recently i've had a talk with a second cousin via facebook and she mentioned that one has to do a lot of things there in canada. quite understandable since house help abroad is sooo expensive. however, i've been wondering on the working to earn a living side of it. does one really have to at least have two jobs to be able to live comfortably there?

well it depends on your job and cost of living If your job pays enough for you to live and send some to your relatives then you do not have to have more work but if you have less earnings then you need to work harder and more

so, it's the same thing as anywhere in the world. it's just that there are more jobs available there than here in the philippines so it appears that everyone always works there .

I agree with you Cifer,it's so nice if you got a good paid job that can cover all your expenses and bills then you have extra for savings and money for holidays.

i have relatives in the USA and they told me that life in the USA is comfortable compared to our life here since there are lots of jobs that you can have. But living in the USA means you have to work three different jobs at least to live a life of comfort since household help is expensive and you will do the chores yourself. Americans are workhaholic by nature so you need to be able to be at par with the way they work.

You need to, so you can afford to live abroad, everything here is taxes then you need to send money to your family in Philippines and you need money to pay your bills and for your expenses, life abroad isn't easy.

Whenever I hear something about Filipinos working outside the country, they mostly have two jobs to compensate their expenses.

cost of living is quite high in other countries.a lot of our kababayans have 2 or 3 jobs to support themselves and their families back in the Philippines.it is not eary, but Filipinos by nature are resilient and will do everything for their families.if given the opportunity I'll work abroad so I can help my family and save for myself.
