Do you prefer makeup or the natural look of a woman ?

I wear my natural look, most of the times. If I do wear makeup I only use mascarra and eye pencils. I used to wear more makeup when I was younger because other people my age were wearing it but stopped because it was not what I wanted for myself and I was comfortable in my own look to not wear any. Ladies, do prefer the natural look or makeup and why. Guys do you like the natural look of a lady or do you like to see a woman well made up?

To be honest, I like the natural look of a lady. A well made up woman always make me feel unconfortable because I would think what I see is not the real face. If she have something special can`t be seen by anyone or she cares about her face too much.

Hmmm interesting point there. I think we are all beautiful in our skin. Some people may feel that they are not what society deems attractive and that might be the reason for all the makeup. MAYBE. If that is the case then perhaps we are sending out the wrong message and contributing to to a woman's low self-esteem. On the other hand it could just be that some women love to wear makeup because it enhances certain parts of their face.

i like it better when the girl is more of herself and not with the make up, light make up is fine, but i really don't like those heavy lip sticks and all, more natural more good.

Hi trinee! I think nothing can beat the natural look. A person who looks beautiful in her natural looks may not look so beautiful in make up. Make up enhances one's outlook only temporarily and the other fellow comes to know that how much make-up a woman has used to make herself look attractive. I would prefer a woman without make-up in her natural looks and if she is putting on good and cleaned clothes, she would attract my attention more rather someone moving around in heavy make-up. Good Post!

Hi trinee! Yes, your interpretation is absolutely right a man wants to see, how a woman looks without make up. Anyone looking naturally beautifull is the one of the positive things for her. It is good to know that you wear very light make up to look natural. Hopefully, you wish to attract others with your natural beauty. When you say that 'We all are beautiful". Do you want me to confirm that 'women are beautiful?' If so, I confirm that women look beautiful in their natural self because God has made them different from men. Thanks for appreciating my response.

Thank you. You know.. as I was reading your post I was thinking that eventually a man wants to see what you look like under the makeup especially if you wear a lot. It's okay to wear it sometimes. For myself, I would prefer something light and very natural looking if I wear any. It can enhance features on your face but it is my hope that women don't feel like they have to wear makeup to look beautiful because we all are. The moment we start feeling that we are not, it brings a host of other problems to our lives. Have a great day and thank you for the post.

I wear makeup because I am older....my oldest daughter doesn't wear any because of allergies to makeup.....I like the look of makeup...it enhances natural beauty but I guess basically its up to whomever...what their preference is.

hello trinee... most of the time, i'm on my natural look...and i like it especially after bath! so fresh looking... but i also wear make ups in occasions... when i go out i usually have a powder and i love wearing lipsticks! and i always use brown eyebrows pencil...i don't know, i feel complete whenever i have lipsticks and feel beautiful...hehehe i use make up just to enhance my natural look and emphasize my lips and eyes... and i usually don't overdo it, i just use the natural shades... so for me, as long as you do make up well and proper and not disturbing, then its ok...though natural look always kick! have a nice day!

See.. I like how you put that together. You are very comfortable in your natural skin, don't mind weaing a little make up now and then but you like those that make you look as natural as possible. There are so many beautiful women out here who feel that they must wear makeup in order to look good. Without it, they don't feel like themselves. That is my concern.

yes i agree...and that's very true with celebrities i think... they always use make up...they need it in their work and they are a different person when they have those make ups(they are a celebrity) and a different person again when they don't have it(they just like an ordinary person...) and some of them don't really looks good without a make up...

Oh yes.. well celebrities must wear make up for different roles and some of them actually go very natural for some of their roles. There are times when it is very much required.

Generally natural. I'm not opposed to looking as good as you can, but don't over do it. Some girls look like they painted on makeup with a paper mache brush. Like they got a bowl full of face powder, and simply mashed their face into it. Obviously this is not attractive. At least not to me. Perhaps some guys would like that, but ugh... By all means look good, and do yourself up a bit. But be real about it. When you spend 3 hours in the morning, and come out with more makeup than you have skin, there is something wrong.

i go for the natural look because that is wear i can see real beauty of a woman. i hate it if women wear to much make up , it ruins the beauty of a person. it is ok for me if a lady would put on a dash of foundation , wears a natural tone lipstick and the right amount of maskara and eye liner. less is better.

I hope that if you have a lady at this time, you will tell her how much you appreciate her beauty with and without the makeup. Have a great day!

hello trinee, Like you, I prefer the natural look... I may put a touch of liquid foundation on a zit or pimple or blemish, but USUALLY if I wear ANY make up, it's just eyeliner & mascara. Sometimes if I'm feeling 'pretty' I'll add eye shadow and lipstick... otherwise, I'm fine and dandy with lipgloss (used as a chapstick...) I'm a low-maintanance kinda girl... hubby is glad I'm low-maintanace, we have a friend-couple with a VERY HIGH maintanace girl and that relationship has PLENTY of problems because of it... I like the simple things... make-up included! Fran429

i think some women are better with makeup and the other are better natural maybe women should try both and ask people around them which one is better for them =)

You have a point there. Some people just aren't suited for make up. It hides their natural look if that is what you mean.

When I was young I never used to put much makeup on because I looked older than I was, today I don't use much makeup because it makes me look older than I Am, so I just use a tinted colour mosturiser and some compact powder, a little eye shadow if that!and some bronze on my cheeks and outer eyebrows, and a nice subtle lip stick and that my friend is my makeup for the day! Please do clean your face every night with a good cleanser and use a mosturiser to keep your skin young looking and supple.

Good point about the cleanser and moisturizer. Clogged pores can create pimples and it is part of why I stopped wearing makeup too. Thank you and have a great day.

i like to see women with make up on...i like a lot of make up but to the point where it looks natural...thats the balance you have to find...having as much make up as you like or to cover stuff up WHILE keeping it natural.

I don't wear makeup on my eyes because they said that I have already beautiful eyes. My eyes is like I'm wearing makeup that's why I don't wear makeup on it anymore, I just apply foundation and lipstick. I don't even use concealer and blush on.

Honestly, with all due respect to all I'd say that I'll always prefer my girl with the least possible makeup. Seriously, I hate ladies overly made up. Besides, the makeup accessories, as far as I know actually pose a greater harm in the near future especially with regards to skin. Obviously, I'd love my girl to stay as original eternally. It's alright if a woman lacks in some facet of her features and then she opts for a makeup for that part, but needless overly done makeup would scare me away. I see many naturally beautiful ladies around spoiling their faces and bodies with those harmful chemicals and surgeries. Someone should advise them not to!

Make Up - Girl applying make up
Well i think that depends on the person in question. There are some girls who look really good with their natural looks. Some look very good with a minimal make up, and some look good with lots of make up. But I've seen very few people who look good with LOTS of make up. So, i kind of prefer girls who apply little or no make up, depending on what suits them.

Oh yes.. we have seen people who look really good with lots of make up on. Some people can wear it and others - NO.If you feel that you MUST wear makeup to look or you would not be able to go out in t public what does that say about your self-esteem? At some point in time the makeup has to come off.

Well I guess as a woman I'd prefer a natural looking make-up.. =D personally I just don't like exaggerated makeup that makes me feel aloof in front of people.. Besides make-ups are meant to enhance your look, not to overdo it so I guess I'd prefer a light make-up instead. In my off campus teaching however we are required to wear a make-up and although I'm not really the type of girl who wears makeup I should get used to it and so I prefer a light makeup instead.

Light makeup is okay for me. I want to be able to look in the mirror and see me! I cannot and will not judge anyone for wearing makeup anymore than I would want anyone to judge me for not wearing it or much of it. For some it is meant to enchance your look but do think that for others it is meant to hide what they are not comfortable with? Just a question.. Thank you for posting and have a great day!

Hi there trinee! I rarely use make up even when I have to go to work. If I do, a tinted lip balm would do. If I needed much more color on my face, I would consider the use of some eye pencils. Just to add some definition to my brows and/or my eyes. Nothing beats the natural look. Besides, if a person is beautiful, such beauty would show with or without make up.

Personally, I rarely wear makeup. I've never been the type of woman, who wears makeup all the time. But I will occasionally put some on, for special occasions and such, but this really does not happen very often.

well to tell you the truth I have an allergy with make-ups. Powders and the stuff that gives colors to the face makes me sneeze, lipstick makes my lips itch specially the ones with content of lead. so I would really like a girl who does not wear make up lol but if she wears it I don't mind her or hate her just make sure she keeps her distance. and my real opinion is a woman should be proud of what she has there is no need to make up, (unless she is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaly ugly)

I prefer the natural look as it's more healthy without putting on any make-up. Even, my hubby also prefer to love my natural beauty. But, i do use make-up when i attend any function or party. Because we need to look our very best when attending to those functions or parties. I don't want to look like a sleeping doll when attending any function or party.....

Well it's nice when your mate loves the natural you and doesn't mind a little makeup either. I think if my boyfriend were to see me with makeup he would walk past me while looking for me and then turn around and make fun of me LOL
