Often we do falsely complain about our internet service provider, but actually I feel its our own computer which is slow to meet the internet qualities. Dont you agree that the speed of the computer is most important thing to visit sites at the click of a button like the processor or the RAM speed?

It's true you don't need a very fast computer to browse the internet. That said, I repair computers and if you have a computer that is bogged down with running a lot of processes in the background, some you install yourself -- some from unknown trojans or malware on your system -- I have seen that have an enormous effect on speeds... and that includes something as mundane as browsing the internet. So while technically a browser doesn't take up a lot of memory/processor power, I see instances on a daily basis in which a computer with plenty of power on paper isn't running near as efficiently as it can.

I totally agree with what you are saying,. Unwanted applications and background processes can really reduce the efficiency of the computer. I used to have so many problems because of these things earlier. I hated it. But then i found quite a few tips and tricks on the net, and this awesome software called Tune-Up Utilities. Thanks to those, my computer runs almost constantly at almost maximum efficiency. =D

That is very incorrect. A normal internet browser doesn't have very high system requirements. the system requirements for IE7 are: PROCESSOR: 233 Mhz OS: Windows XP SP2 [and other OSes as well, I just mentioned the most common one] MEMORY (RAM): 64-128 Mb MONITOR: A monitior with 800x600 resolution and 256 colours CD DRIVE These requirements are very very low. Even the most basic of computers have a specification much higher than this. In, fact there are cellphones these days with this kind of specs. So i don't think the problem of slow loading pages can be blamed on the computer. I'm quite sure that the processor speed and RAM have no role to play in internet speed. Hope you find this post helpful. Cheers. Happy MyLotting. =D

Yeah, internet speed have no role to play internet speed but if you open some websites that using high graphics and many plugin can make your computer slow, that why for windows xp have minimal 512 RAM to run smoothly. I still use my old PC which pentium II but loaded with 512 RAM, run perfect for surfing internet :)

Yes speed of the computer is also very important for surfing. The browser needs to send and receive bytes and so Ram speed is very much need from surfing the internet with hurdle.

Hey, Well if you have a really slow computer, you will not be able to actually surf the Internet fast enough, because it actually relies on your computer speed to actually send and receive information, so you also need a fast computer too. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Computer speed has nothing to do with Internet speed. Computer speed correspondent to ability to do a processing each instruction and computation.Usually called MIPS(Million Instructions Per Second) Internet speed correspondent to how fast the data from one place deliver to another place with its network function. Usually in KBps (KiloBytes per second). If your Internet slow, then it should be something to do with your modem/router, the line itself and your provider. BR.b

Our computer speed is mean our computer performance. It takes part on faster internet speed. But the most important thing if we wanted to have faster internet speed is on our ISP bandwidth. Our computer speed is needed if we use the internet for hard work. Such as showing multimedia content from YouTube, downloading multiple files, etc. But above of all, the most important in the internet is on the bandwidth. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Sometimes it is the server unable to cope with the amount of people acessing it at the same time, i know for e.g. yesterday trying to read about michael jackson my internet would just give up. The majority of the time though i know its my computer because i download alot of tv shows etc so its naturally slow, but its doesn't bother me, only if i'm in a rush to find something out
