how do i keep eyeliner from smearing?

I found that the foundation or powder you use can affect the eyeliner as well. I used the same exact eyeliner with a liquid foundation, a cream foundation, and a compact pressed powder wet/dry foundation. The eyeliner did not smear with the pressed powder foundation that I applied on wet.

try using water proof eyeliner... if you are using oil based eye liner, then apply a coat of face powder (dry) around your eyes... then you'll see the difference... try it out

Try dabbing face powder around your eyes once in a while during the day so it would absorb the sweat that makes the eyeliner run.

I use the Rimmel jet black pencil. It goes on well and doesn't smear at all. Also it is cheaper than some of the others. It's all my daughter's and I will use. I did try a waterproof but it irritated my eyes really bad. I think you should give this a try and see if it helps. Good luck!

I use liquid eyeliner and it hardy ever smears...unless i rub my eyes. Most eyeliners are made of wax so when you sweat they melt . I also layer my eyeliner so it stays on longer and i use the same color eyeshawdow so you cant tell if it smuges

hey common problem this one is..i am hoping you put your eyeliner very slowly and dont haste while doing so..draw only a thin line of the liner...also why dont you go for waterproof liners..there are many of them available now..revlon loreal etc etc..try them out...and if you dint know the smudged look is quite in..infact few cosmetic producers actully provide a smudger along with liners now!lol...cheers!
