It seems that the promise of a transparent administration is going to be used very selectively. It seems that Rep John Conyers, (D) Michigan and Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee wanted to hold hearings on ACORN after charges were leveled that ACORN was involved in Voter Fraud, Violating Election Laws, and running a "Mob like protection racket". Rep Conyers, who was once a defender of ACORN, heard testimony from a former ACORN official and he then decided that his committee had to hold hearings and launch an investigation. Now "The Powers that Be" have decided that he can not hold hearings. The question is being asked who are the "Powers that Be", is it the White House, Democratic Leadership, House Leadership or is it Contributors. Who ever it is a sad day for our freedoms when one or more people can block an investigation that involves on of our basic principles - the right to a free and open election. We have a right to know who is blocking the investigation and to know what ACORN is all about. For more information check out this article republished from the Washington Post.

A perfectly reasonable question. It is reminiscent of the stories that Washington is run by a secret cabal, lording over both parties. What fun American politics is!

Oooh, good idea. Who cares about truth if I can write a book about it and make coin!

The Powers that Be are any combination of that thug Obama, The sk@nk Pelosi and the criminal Harry Reid (The Central Powers).
Has Obama ever even attempted to make good on his "sunshine" promise?

The "man behind the curtain" only shines the light of truth on others, never himself.

The CFR and other groups come to mind.
They have been pulling the strings in DC for years.
The powers that be also decided an ineligible and unqualified Kenyan would be president, and here we are.
