I have a lovely daughter I called her princess. Somtimes I worry if there is a future ahead for her at this time of global recession. Do any of you worry for your children? My Jacquelin only works as a sales person and I am trying to make ends meet. I want to help her earn more money on the internet, any suggestions?

You must be a very loving father. Wish my Dad was the same. I think as a parent, it is only normal to want your child to be successful. That is what every loving parent would want. I don't see anything wrong with being a sales person because it's a pretty decent job and your daughter looks young. She is about my age I think and she still has time to develop her career whichever path she chooses. Helping her make ends meet sounds like a great idea and what better way to look than in the internet. This is one of the many reasons why I love technology. Education doesn't guarantee success. This is something that I can personally attest to. I'm not a graduate yet but I'm already involved in some large projects and have been involved with some that have already taken off. How I do this is because of the network of people I am involved with. My business contacts/ personal friends comprise of some reputable business people and they give me "Leads" or refer people to me for various projects (project management, sourcing, evaluation). I bring people together. I broker deals. I source goods, services, companies and people. This is how I was able to earn at least 5 figures total annual income in USD last year. Last year was a good year for me but this year is bad. So many contracts went under water because of the recession. People break contracts and projects got canceled/ temporarily postponed. I am mostly in construction and mining projects just so you know. I think the best way to succeed is not only by education but these days, you need to align yourself with people who have the same goals and a good network of people who are reputable so you can help each other grow. Networking is important, online and in our daily lives. Some friends of mine only found jobs when they asked other friends when they lost their jobs due to the economic crisis.

Thank you Lin, for your kind words and comments. You have a good job, keep it up. Many have lost theirs due to the unstable global economy. But things will pick up, nothing to worry about. Maybe not to what it was, as damage has been done but it will get better. We all have to be more careful with our finances in future that's all.

My mother always says, life is like a wheel. Sometimes you are on the top and sometimes you are on the bottom. I think things should pick up sooner or later, just a matter of time. Thanks.

Unfortunately, unless you're trading in stocks and know what you're doing, there's very little money to be made on the internet at websites like this. The best way to improve your job prospects is through education and ultimately qualifications. In these times, if you have a job then you're one of the lucky ones, millions of people don't have a job. But there's always room to improve yourself and if you have the opportunity to go back into education because you're unhappy with your job or current employment prospects then go for it.

Even having professional qualifications do not guarantee a job nowadays. I have been a professional for many years, educated and lived in England but now I am unemployed. Since my retrenchment a few years back, I have failed to get a job. Either I am over qualified as an engineer or there is no top post for general managers like me. I have worked for UK, USA and French multi-nationals, now I cannot even find a job. Qualification is no longer a guarantee for success in life. Sometimes I feel like packing up and go back to London. But I heard things are just as bad.

Maybe she'll have a future if you don't actually treat her like a princess. Teach her the value of hard work, and that you don't just get whatever you want "magically." Don't let her get caught in the princess syndrome that the world revolves around her and that someone else is always going to take care of everything for her. That will just land her in a big mess of disappointment later on in her life.

I suppose you are right. But right now she is standing on her own 2 feet working independently. After I suffered badly from global financial crisis, I was unable to do anything. But as a dad, you will always worry about your children no matter what. True, I can't help but I do worry.

I believe Jacquelin will be a successful person. A sales person can have career advancement too, she can be promoted to become sales manager, and perhaps be promoted later as regional sales director. It all depends whether the company has expansion or not. She need to reach above her sales target and be creative to promote her products. It is a good start and marketing skill is very important. With that she can later jumped to another company with better prospect However, you can earn at myLot by doing some SharonBucks tasks which she is quite a good paymaster. Her tasks range from USD1.50 to USD4.00. I have not tried any but I heard some has earn USD30-50 per month.
