As to me, I would refuse politely because business partnership just does not suit me. I mean I have tried it many times and have incurred severe loss. But when I started a business on my own, I was successful. I wonder if it is with me only or there are others who have experienced this. Please share your experience.

On the internet, I certainly would at least consider a joint venture. In real life I probably wouldn't because the risk you're going to get screwed is just too high.
I can't really give you a peek in my experience because I don't have much experience in participating joint ventures.

A joint venture is a joint venture whether it is in real life or on the internet. I think a joint venture on the internet involves a greater risk because there are a lot of scams on internet these days and one should not trust internet to that extent. Anyway, thanks for responding.

I actually quit my day job to start working online. I was so sick of bending for bosses or jumping when they snap their fingers. Thirty years of working for people was enough. It was time for me to try something on my own.
The internet was the best place for me but because I quit my day job I did have to spend a few lean months making up for the lost salary.
My first online business was web design which was fun for the first little while but I soon started to feel like I was still working for someone else. I had to continually answer to my clients.
That eventually got on my nerves and I felt trapped like I did working in the brick and mortar world, so I dropped most of my clients. I did find the good homes with designers that would treat them as good as I did.
Then I started with a few static money sites but when I started blogging I realized that's what I wanted to be doing.
It has taken me a while to build my little blogging network and now have close to 30 blogs. I am going to shut a few down, I am just getting busier that I want to be. It doesn't leave me the time I want to spend on my hobbies.
I don't think I would partner with any one as that still comes down to answering to someone else.
I have thought about joint ventures and if the right one came along I might just go with it as long as it didn't turn into a partnership.
Now my wife retires in just three years from now so when that happens I guess I will have a blogging partner, she will have her own web sites though.
