Unkown Money, will you returned it or keep it?

What if one day, you were checking you savings account from an atm machine and you found out you have excess money. Of course you know your balanced and you never deposited any money and you dont expect any money from someone. So what will you do, will you keep it or report it to the bank that they accidetally deposited money to your account?

I won't touch the money. I will report the case immediately to the bank. It is uneasy to think if the money is from an unknown source and could be using my account for some illegal transactions. So, it is better be safe than sorry to check with the bank officers on why the money is there. If it's some kind of the bank error, then, by all means, please take back all the money!

I don't think there's a penalty for keeping the money. If the bank figures it out then they'll probably just take the money back. So I'll probably not touch it and see what the bank does.

I saw this article earlier from Yahoo... Anyway, it will depend on your conscience. Trying to keep it will consider you a theft, whether you are aware of the mystery money or not, if you didn't report it to the bank immediately...
