I just had a conversation

with someone who actually hadn't made up their mind! That's rare that is! We were discussing the possibility of extra terrestrials and she didn't know if they did or didn't exist, and she came to a conclusion that they might....and they might not, (i think thats a conclusion) It's a rare thing to have a conversation with someone that is actually willing to listen and absorb information. Granted she was only 10, but still, she listened. When was the last time you had a conversation with someone that was actually willing to listen? what did you talk about?

Well I have not talk to someone with an undecided mind in a long time. I believe the reason it is one gets older and one learns from everywhere and then form an opinion, and the more years that passed by we hang on to that opinion because do we rule 100% if is not our mind? At ten the world is still new and we are not battered or desperate to hang on to ideas.

I agree with the 10 yr old and she sounds like a smart kid! Kids have a way of opening our eyes to things we would normally ignore or sweep under the rug. Yes, there could be aliens...but then again there might not be....ANYTHING is possible. I dont know. I cant say there are NOT aliens just because "I" havent seen them..... Just because it hasnt happened to ME doesnt make it impossible. The last time I had a conversation like this was last night with my husband...he will almost always listen when I have something on my mind....unless of course he is playing a video game....well, then the thought of him hearin anything I sai is pretty much kapoot.

I think you have had bad luck itf you don´t find easily people with which to share ideas and maybe meet in the middle. There are lots of topics that are difficult (like the one you mentioned or religious ones) but still, my experience is that I´m always learning from people and find people that listed my own point of view. I don´t remember which was the last time that happened. But even here, at mylot, in these virtual conversations, we find people who listen and people who help. They don´t have to be great topics either. Today we talked about how to freeze a slaw salad with a friend, , today I gave out a site to check to play a game that gives rice to hungruy children (check http://www.freerice.com/index.php please), yesterday I talked about abortion with a friend here. Two days ago I went to a birthday party and the conversation was centered in the second world war and about classic music). I hope your 10 year old friend still listens when she grows up. Some people develope a brain deafness unfortunatly. Take care
