A good question

Do you think that we will be able to program a computer into becoming a human brain, complete with all the qualities of that brain including the ability to reason and to communicate? If so who's brain would be the best to turn over to the computer?

I think it's impossible to create a machine soul, but a machine mind - why not.I think there will be many powerful computers and robots in the future,I believe robots will replace human soldiers and workers. There's no doubt about it, it's just a question of time. But I don't see people falling in love with androids and creating families in my vision.Robots taking control over our lives would be a nightmare.

There have been many stories over the years about just such a thing happening. What do you think would happen?

They have no feelings.I can imagine what would happen if they would start medical experiments with people like they were animals. This would be the worst scenario.

Do you think we humans are wise enough to handle that computer? Thanks

One of the things that makes this impossible is that the human brain is able to reason and rationalize, two things a computer can't do. Human brains also take into account feelings, thoughts, memories and emotions...again something that computers can't do. While computers are great for somethings they can't and shouldn't replace humans. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

Hi, Pat! The very idea makes my skin crawl. I like that computers can respond to human commands and even be a little creative, but for them to become exactly as human brains? Too frightening. I know "2001" was just an old story, but HAL was too human and scary for me. I like humans to be human and computers to be instruments for our use.

That may be possible. But the person who will invent such computer that person's brain must be superior than that computer.

I agree with bhanusb. The brain that would be used to model such a computer against would surely have to be superior. It’s a worrying concept. I have visions of the planet being taken over by computers who are fed up with being subservient to man. If such a machine was created to have reasoning and communication skills, personality would come into it and that is really a scary thought!

The future of the Earth is cybernetic androids, cyborgs, robots & machines that have become self-aware or sentient beings. Who knows if humans will be deemed necessary after that. Humans just might become irrelevant...

How relevant are we now? Hmmmm.....

Hi savypat . you know I have heard that our brain is a computer. . and that most of us dont even tap into 10 per cent of it. Now if only science and religion could communicate and share more together . .so many answers to our questions could be answered....to bad it isnt going to happen .. . but one can hope that someday a closer bond may be formed between the two! Happy Lotting to you!

hi savypat i think if you give the computer options and give it the power to decide and the ability to choose and give it the ability to reason it's choice then it certainly can be able to think a little like humans, but that is long time to come.
