I didn't know they renamed the diner. THey shouldn't have done that. SOunds like several of the soaps are going to be doing a g*ay storyline and stable actors are leaving cause they don't agree. I think Soaps are getting far to "involved" in real life these days. They can't make things happen as they would in real life - like getting off criminal charges so easy - so they kind of just hit and miss on this type of storyline..end it and the actors leave town or something. I for one, don't want to watch the soaps with real-life issues...I can watch the news for that.. but I watch the soaps for entertainment and to get away from real life for an hour... having to watch the real stuff just takes it away from me. I like the time travel, the secret capers and all the oddball stuff .. the stuff that doesn't happen every day of our lives!Since Antonio is gone and Christian is more or less on his own with regard to family.. why don't they just write out the actress of Carlotta and refer to her in name only or have her leave town or something. THey seem to replace the older ones with younger ones and that just don't work. Carlotta didn't have a huge part in the show anymore anyway... should have had her sell the diner to Moe and leave town with Antonio to be nanny to Jamie

I think most of these stories lately are also a way to increase the publicity to these soaps who are not the huge ratings earners they were way back when. This uncompromising position on both sides seems to show that maybe they wanted the actress who was not on contract to leave, by bringing in a younger actress they are able to put her in more romantic plots. I don't find it weird having a younger actress to act like mother to grown, they do the same thing to kids by ageing them rapidly from toddlers to teenagers to adulthood sometimes in a few years sometimes the age difference between the new children and their parents make it impossible but everyone accepts it as a soap quirk. Soaps are unrealistic, that is what makes them fun, half of what happens in soaps would be impossible in real life.

That seems stupid. And if they are going to replace her with anyone, don't you think the woman who played Pilar on Passions would be a better fit? But as for the actress Patricia Mauceri, she's probably going to have a hard time finding work. After all, she's toiled on OLTL for a long time with hardly a storyline.

That is too bad, especially if it is for that reason. The soaps are all such copycats. One show does something and usually it is some kind of recycle from years ago and they all have to follow. One or two shows with a big gay storyline is enough in my opinion since there are so many other types of stories they could do that would be fresh and not just repeats of years past. They have done gay story lines several times in the past, so I see no reason for them to jump on the bandwagon again just because other soaps are doing them. Hey writers how about some originality for a change.

Thanks for reporting this. I can not believe they are recasting her. I have only watched One Life To Life for about 3-4 years I think but I do not like her in her role. If you are saying they have replace her with a younger actress that does not make sense since her sons are grown men.
