Mountain Lions?

A good friend of mine recently lost two cows to a Mountain Lion. I was wondering if any of you have ever hunted them? If so, what was your action plan, how did you organize a successful hunt (if it was successful)?

We have big cats down here in Florida and the ranchers take steps to protect their livestock instead of trying to hunt down the predators. Since these cats normally hunt during the night a cattleman that I know personally has motion detector lighting around the areas where his stock are housed at night. The lights scare away the cats. If there's one cat in the area there may likely be more so hunting down and killing one may not solve the problem.

obviusly you will be needing a bog bore rifle such as a .308.

Hi, The biggest animal predator here is a house cat so I have no worries about it. If given a chance to hunt them, I would pack my regular 30-06 and a 8-inch .357 for good measure. A two-man team would be enough but if somebody wants to come along, it would be fine. An extra shot may come in handy in tight situations.
