Does anyone live in an apartment and hate it??

I do. I live in a college town and it is very hard to find a home to rent that allows pets. The landlords usually rent to college kids with sky high rent and that leaves decent families in small apartments. It is so unfair. I also recieve rental assistance. This apartment is so cramped and constantly noisy. My neighbors are jerks and just let thier kids run around everywhere making tons of noise. Also my upstairs neighbor is constantly making noise. She has two kids, ages 2 and 4 and she leaves them alone all the time and takes off in her car. Unfortunately most of the other tenants are that way to. So this time of year I mostly stay in my bedroom where I can't hear it. I have two noisy fans in there so that helps. I have tons of health problems so I am unable to work and am waiting on disability. That will give me the money to move. If any of you belive in prayer, please pray for me and my son that we will be able to find a place to live that will let us keep our cat and rent assistance. It is very unfair to my 16 year old son to have to live in a place like this. He deserves a house to live in. I basically feel like I am living in hell and just want out. Is anyone else in this situation?? Or is anyone living in an apartment and hate it???

Yeah, I am a college student who lives at an apartment near my campus. Neighbours can make some noise sometimes that it's unbearable, sometimes the water supply to our block is lost for maybe several hours that makes it so hard for me to do any cleaning or bathing, even the electricity at the apartment has caused some problems by being suddenly blacked out the night of an important exam when I had to study. I hear the rental might be raised as well! I may be moving out, sigh, really need to.

Good luck to you in moving. I hope you find something. I hope I do to someday. Do you live in a big city?? It is so much easier in big cities to find a place. I live in a very small town, a college town, so it makes it much harder. The rents are always being raised and I can't afford that. Unfortunately, there are alot of good families living in apartments because they can't afford the rental houses. I don't think its fair. I wish I could write about it to someone in my town that would take notice. Good luck.

Well it can be considered a big city. here riding taxis would cost more than it normally would in the bigger cities, it seems irrational, the taxi drivers all said it's because of the high cost of living in this city that they need to apply such high fees to us who ride in their taxi. But yeah there are other places that offer better condition to live in, it can be afforded. Good luck to you too@!

I am living in a small house, it is overheated right now as the sun light heats the front of it, it is peaceful and I am thinking of the plus of living with my small family by myself. We have two dogs and try to take them out as much as we can as where we rent there is another house, and no fence around the property. SO, I might be in a situation where I want to move but then ir is better to stay where I am for many reasons, the rent is reasonable and it is much more peaceful than at your apparment complex. Try to make a list of the good things you have, I am sure your kid deserves a house like you say but at least is with you in an apparment and not homeless, that's a plus.

Hi ShellyB, There are some good points, you are right. At least we aren't homeless. It is better than nothing. Because it is so small I have to hang a dark sheet up on the window to keep it cool this time of year. It gets so hot here and we only have a window airconditioner. But I consider you as lucky. Even though it may be small for you at least you have peacefullness. I will keep my chin up.

Please do, right now we all want to be in the bedroom too, I know of a couple of people who do not live on their own, they rent rooms and trust me the lack of privacy is so bad, I often end up knowing things they do because I am friends with the people they rent from, it is not fun from that point of view, on the other hand they have perks I do not have, like a swiming pool and rides-lol. I wish you the very best of luck.

Hubby and I lived in an apartment for about 2 years and hated every minute of it! We always felt like someone was watching us as we came and went. Nothing was private because of it being apartments, someone lived in all of them. We couldn't plant flowers, we couldn't play ball or any of the outdoor activities that we wanted to do but couldn't.

Well i do, i live flat and hate where there are lots of disturbances by our neighbours in parking vehicles. An individual house is always the best at any time
