When creating backlink to our blogs, do you consider the PR of the page or the PR of the blog? Within a high PR blog, there are certain pages with very low PR, and certain pages with very high PR. Do you create backlinks from homepage or the page with the highest PR?

I leave a link, even to page/post that has no or low back links. A few times I have seen pages rank higher after several months. But many blogs/sites include the "no follow" tag, which means you won't necessarily get any link "juice" if you leave a link...

The PR of the page....If your main goal is to increase SEO, you definitely want to consider the PR of the Page. But, if you're more after increasing visitors, you should consider that a low PR page probably just means it's new. Many times a new page generate a large amount of traffic on a high PR blog, which could provide you with a large amount of traffic as well! I'd add a comment/link on both!!!

Hi Onlinemoneymna, thanks for the clarification. I suspect that backlinks from a high PR page can help push up the PR of my blog. I just never thought of the large amount of traffic on a new page, it's a good idea to follow a high PR blog, and keep on making comments to create backlinks.

I am guessing PR refers to page rank. Wouldn't it be better to create links to pages with lower ranks since those pages need more help?

Hi Canellita, I guess I'm not putting it correctly. I mean when you visit someone's blog, and want to leave a comment, to create backlink to your blog, do you ever think of checking the page rank of that particular page? Actually I do not do so, I just read select the most interesting article (to me), and then leave a comment. At most, I check the PR of the blog, never bother to check the PR of any particular page.
