Quality costs!

I can appreciate the fact that people want to save their money, but why is it that people are so unwilling to pay for anything that is good quality. They want great quality stuff at cheap prices. It doesn't happen, unless you get REALLY lucky! We have a shop near us that has a whole array of items, ALL of which are 90p, now, what kind of quality can you expect for that? I have heard people (my brother included) saying that the stuff in there is low quality, What do you expect for less than £1? I bought a money box in their and I tapped it on the side as something was stuck in there and it broke, now I know I shouldn't have done that, but I am not gonna complain as I knew it wouldnt be able to withstand much! Are you one of those people who is willing to pay for a quality item? Or have you been fooled by the false economy?

well i have a problem - i like changing my accessories often and i cannot handle things delicately - yeah i know it sounds weird but it is true. So the best thing i do is to go for cheaper products that are cost wise economical and do offer quality for what i pay. So i don't invest 5000 rupees for branded handbags; instead i get handbags for 250 and may withstand only for a couple of months - its OK for i can get something trendy when the existing one becomes obsolete! :)

I have actually been able to get some pretty good quality items for cheap, especially when it comes to furniture. I am the type of person who is willing to buy something that needs work for a lower price because I like to customize things to fit my personality. For instance, I love to buy vintage clothing from consignment shops and yard sales and alter them to make them more modern and to fit me properly. I recently bought a horrible little 70s dress for a few dollars. I replaced the buttons, fixed the buttonholes, and reshaped the sleeves. With the right belt and shoes, it will be great to wear this fall, and I hardly spent any money on it at all!

I do that too! I bought some trousers for a pound a pair and turned them into skirts! I get LOADS of my clothes from charity shops!

I do believe in quality over price when it comes to stuff that I will be using for a long while. But I also believe that there are a lot of quality items that you can get at lower prices without noticing any difference. I think this is definitely the case as far as food, drink and clothes go. There are also a lot of great cheap restaurants out there that I would prefer to go to over something more expensive. There are probably a few gems to be found in these 99p stores, but I would not walk in there expecting to find it.

whenever I can afford, I only buy quality things. If I can't afford, i try to do without it. I never buy cheap things which are sure to have no quality at all.

Yes, I am one of those who is willing to pay for a quality item. I don't like to see my things easy broken. The poor quality item makes me embarrassed. If I have to buy thing, I'd love to buy something that can be with me as long as forever(I know it's impossible but that's what I really want). I like to update myself and learn things new but still I would miss all my things that I ever have had and I would appreciate more if it's still working well. Like a 1982 car of my granpa.

Yah we knew that looking at the price alone you can see the quality on it but not in all instances. For example are the new entrants of new products. They have lower price but have a better quality produts.

I don't think like that at all. I want the best for the lowest cost possible so I frequently buy things off ebay. I get brand new items for a fraction of the price on ebay such as recently I got 3 pairs of crocs (for me and the kids) for £35 including delivery. I also got a timberland rainproof mac for £5 for my son, and monsoon winter jackets for my kids at £7.99 each that were in monsoon at the time for £45 each. I also shop in our local pound shop where they sell top brand products like shampoo's and other hair products, cleaning products, animal accessories and foodstuffs. They are top brand items which are normally £4 - £7 in supermarkets so I save a fortune xxx

When I buy something cheap, I really don't expect a lot, although there have been times that I've been pleasantly surprised. Some of those type of stores buy closeouts, meaning that the store bought a bargain and passes it on to you. What really galls me is seeing things at high-end stores for a substancial amount of money, that I wouldn't even buy at that bargain store. Any one who sews knows what I'm talking about. I've seen some very expensive clothing with unfinished (or sloppy) seams, and buttons that are attached with a thread that readily pulls out. Some clothing is labelled as 'dry clean only' simply because with normal motions of a washing machine, the seams would fall apart.
