Story spoilers are you for or against

When it comes to television shows, will you read spoilers, scoops or sneak peaks or do you want to be surprised. I know that there are shows especially murder mysteries that if you know who the killer is it ruins the story, but sometimes when you see the same show a second time knowing who the killer is will add to the enjoyment as you start picking up little clues that you didn't notice before. The same applies to basically all types of shows, though romantic comedies, mysteries are sometimes only fun to watch if you are kept guessing to the end, then when you know the ending they loose their appeal. So are you the type of person that scouts the media for spoilers about your favourite shows or are you the one that hates them with a passion, feeling that they will destroy your enjoyment of the show.

Yes, I have a terrible addiction to spoilers! Personally, I find that if I read a lot of what is going to happen (often with mistakes) I'm even more excited for the episode in question. I've never searched for spoilers for murder mysteries however and I think I'd hold back on that. I've managed to steer clear of a lot of spoilers for the new series of Torchwood and am going to try watching it without being in the know but I think when I don't know , I kind of worry about the show. Especially Torchwood as if it doesn't sound like it's going to be very good it will get poor viewer ratings and wont get a forth series! Where as some programs are very safe. I do find it a bit daft that the soaps are spoilt near enough completely in magazines however as they're on nearly every day so there's not really any need as there is not enough time to miss them!

I know what you mean, but I do not have your control, especially when one of my favourite characters is in peril, I have the really bad habit of going to look if the next preview shows the character, and yes I am the type of person who will read the last page of a novel if I am really stressed about where a character is heading. I know I am really bad :S, and internet has made it worse.

I do the same with books! The worst thing is I bought the last 2 Harry Potter books to spoil the films and before reading them, skipped through the whole books including the endings! But it really hasn't stopped my excitement for the films. In fact I'm even more excited.

I'm basically a contradiction type of this. I don't like to read spoilers, but I enjoy watching reruns. Of course if it has been a long time since I saw the show, I may not remember some of the important parts at first and so a lot of it is not spoiled. Also, sometimes I just like the actors and will watch a rerun even if I remember it well unless there is something else that I haven't seen on that I like.
