I was reading the reviews on The Reaping after I watched it this weekend, and they are mostly really bad, I found it's 9% on the Rotten Tomatoes a bit harsh. The story although not original, demon child that brings terror to the population, there comes a scientist who believes in a rational explanation and the surprise ending. Well you kind of could see where the story was heading half way through the movie, and though there are several supporting characters they work more as extras, seen but not heard. Take that all into account, the plot was reasonable, the acting fine and the special effects effective, why such a low rating. I have seen much, much worse movies, with stories that go nowhere, actors barely there and cinematography and direction that makes you want to scream not due to fear but frustration. So what do you think does it deserve it's low rating or not?

I didn't think that the movie was bad. It could have been better, but overall, I liked it. If you look at the story line and how everything was portrayed, it is not bad at all. I don't think that it deserves a low rating at all. Not the highest of ratings, but no where near the lowest.
