What's best against chewing gum?

I've had chewing gum on my backpack and was wondering what is the best method against chewing gum?

The only thing I have found to work is baby oil. I would use it in my daughters hair and it would take a bit but it does work. I hope that helps.

I heard putting it in the freezer takes away the gum. But I can see you don't want to put your childd's head in the freezer. lol

When I was younger I was a brat towards my sister... I had a great amount of gum in my mouth and well needless to say it ended up in my sister's hair... Right in the middle of everything... My mother used peanut butter, don't know why or how but it worked..I think...
