Are you going? People in cities all of the country are once again putting together TEA parties (it stands for taxed enough already). I hope they are even bigger than the tax day tea parties. Are you taxed enough already? I know I am. I helped plan the one here in my city.So tell me, do you plan to go one? Why or why not?

What I'd love to see would be a grassroots movement to have something like tea-parties to let Congress know we're not willing to wait any longer for real health care reform. When nearly three-quarters of the American people want something but a small minority of lawmakers refuse to go along with their wishes it's time to do some housecleaning. Annie

Annie, that's called the "Something for Nothing" movement.

"So I take it you think people that pay for their health care and like it that way should be force to give up their health insurances so you can have health insurance." Rose, if you've ever actually READ a thing that I've posted you'd know that I DO have insurance. "I hope someone has some dam brains left in congress that helps the American people that pays for their health insurance not be force by this corrupted government in power to give it up so they can have government issued health insurance and die waiting to see a doctor or have a operation that would save their life." You really don't pay attention to anything other than the right-wing propaganda of WND and Fox News, do you? Nobody is going to have to give up the coverage they do have. Can I assume by your comments that those who can't afford to pay the outrageous insurance premiums or health care fees should die because no doctor will see them or they can't afford an operation that would save their life? "If universal health care passed you will see one hell of a parade of medical professional from doctors to nurses hauling butt, would you work for beans, don't think so and they won't either, can blame them." You ARE aware that most doctors and other health care professionals are in favor of health care reform? The AMA as a group isn't in favor of everything that's been discussed but the doctors themselves are well aware that changes are needed. Where are they going to "haul butt" to, Rose? "What government run operation have you seen that amounted to a hill of beans after they get done robbing it? I'm sure it is not the postal service, medicare program, social security." NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT "RUNNING" HEALTH CARE! The government agencies/programs you mention above have their flaws but they're basically excellent programs. Since I'm discussing health care issues I'll stick to Medicare right now; there is some waste there but it's mostly because there hasb't been any control on what the pharmaceutical companies and other health care providers bill them for. It needs some fixing along with the rest of our health care system. I'm not even going to address the rest of your response. This has very little if anything to do with illegal immigrants, Rose. If they're illegal they won't be eligible for any public option that passes, if it passes. If the only alternative to being a liberal Democrat is being someone who doesn't care about thousands of people dying every year because they can't afford the care the could save their lives then I'll proudly remain a liberal Democrat! I agree reform needs to be done. But not taking more tax dollars from the american public is not the answer. We are taxed enough.

While I support the TEA parties, I won't be participating in any protest on Independence Day. When another one comes, I will do all I can to attend, but I won't politicize that day.

If there is one in the area I will attend. I think the time for TEA Parties is over and we need to be writing or Senators and Congressmen weekly and tell them how we feel about the issues of the day. We need to call on every bill and let them know where we stand on the issues. They have to know that they work for us and their job performance Review will be coming up soon. I am a Conservative and have my set of values but what is happening is the government is out of control. They think they can do what ever they want and we can not stop them. Bills are being pass before they are completely written. Lawmakers do not have time to read them and when they do the bill are a thousand pages or more and most are crossed reference to other laws so to understand you have to read one or two laws for most paragraphs. An example from the new Climate Bill SEC. 146. INCLUSION OF SMART GRID FEATURES IN APPLIANCE REBATE PROGRAM. (a) Amendments- Section 124 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (42 U.S.C. 15821) is amended as follows: (1) By amending the section heading to read as follows: `energy efficient and smart appliance rebate program.'. (2) By redesignating paragraphs (4) and (5) of subsection (a) as paragraphs (5) and (6), respectively, and inserting after paragraph (3) the following: `(4) SMART APPLIANCE- The term `smart appliance' means a product that the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency or the Secretary of Energy has determined qualifies for such a designation in the Energy Star program pursuant to section 142 of the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, or that the Secretary or the Administrator has separately determined includes the relevant Smart Grid capabilities listed in section 1301 of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (15 U.S.C. 17381).'. (3) In subsection (b)(1) by inserting `and smart' after `efficient' and by inserting after `products' the first place it appears `, including products designated as being smart appliances'. (4) In subsection (b)(3), by inserting `the administration of' after `carry out'. (5) In subsection (d), by inserting `the administration of' after `carrying out' and by inserting `, and up to 100 percent of the value of the rebates provided pursuant to this section' before the period at the end. (6) In subsection (e)(3), by inserting `, with separate consideration as applicable if the product is also a smart appliance,' after `Energy Star product' the first place it appears and by inserting `or smart appliance' before the period at the end. (7) In subsection (f), by striking `$50,000,000' through the period at the end and inserting `$100,000,000 for each fiscal year from 2010 through 2015.'. (b) Table of Contents- The item relating to section 124 in the table of contents for the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (42 U.S.C. 15801 and following) is amended to read as follows: `Sec. 124. Energy efficient and smart appliance rebate program.'. This is one section in a bill that is over 1000 pages long. How are we to understand what is being passed and what the law means. What happens is we depend upon someone to explain the law to us and then someone else telling us we are all wrong. The government is getting too big and unmanageable and we the people have to take it back.

I'm working on the 4th. Not only will I miss out on the protest...but I'm going to miss out on the Rodeo, the bar-be-ques, and the fireworks. The worst part is, I don't even get time and a half.

You know I went to the last one but I'm not going to be able to make it on the 4th. My daughter has to work all day and I agreed to keep the baby so that my grandsons can participate in some of the activities going on in town. I realize that I could take her and go to one but they're not close by and I'm not comfortable taking her into high traffic areas on a day when a lot of folks will be drinking and possibly driving. I don't feel that I have the right to put her at risk.

your right. The baby does not need to be there. I am not taking my kids. They are going to grandma's for a couple of hours.
