So many reasons to not run...

I'm too tired from work. It's cold outside. I ran yesterday! I'm sleep - can I take a nap and run after? I'll just take a longer run tomorrow. On and on it goes!!! The only reason why I run: Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.--William Faulkner Why do you run?

Oh man. When it comes to running..I'm the queen of excuses. I usually rationalize with myself that I don't want to get jumped or assaulted by running in my neighborhoood (I live in an inner-city) or because I'm too lazy to drive to the nearest lake I could run around. Laziness. Pure laziness. But I absolutely prefer running at night (or at least in the evening) over running in the morning.. Yuck! I hate mornings. . But I run mainly to burn calories and to relieve stress, and to take a little "me" time. And plus, if I don't run..I barely exercise. It's quite sad. I like the quotes you've been putting in discussions. Very motivational.

Hahahahaha - mornings are the best times to run because the air is still fresh (fresher) compared to later in the day. Too bad I'm too much of a pooh-see to run early in the morning or too late at night. I just got back from my run (i'm still sweating here - haven't taken a shower yet) and I realized that night time running is not for me. I like the alone - I-own-the-road feeling though, That's definitely a plus for night time running. I hope the qoutes will keep you motivated - it got me out of my fat butt and went for a quickie run!

Today it was nearly 90 degrees outside. And I had told myself I would meet with the running group anyway. So I did. And I ran 5 miles today. I'm only at 2 minutes 22 seconds for a quarter mile right now. But hopefully I'll be faster soon and hopefully able to run at least a half marathon sometime this year as well!
