I am thinking about taking a vacation sometime this winter - preferrably within the USA. I'd really love to find a "beach front" hotel, where it's quiet and peaceful. Does anyone have any ideas? Looking forward to your posts.

Hi Miss Classy Cat - ever been to Southern California? Or just California in general. Now I'm not gonna pretend that it's cheap or whatever, but with this kind of economy, I'm sure you can wheel and deal your way into some good deals. And here's another cost saving fact about southern cali - we have TONS of free stuff. GOOD free stuff! Getty Villa is off the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), the Getty Museum is not that far off from the Villa, there's a serene quiet place off PCH, Point Dume (one of my favorite places)...mannn I could go on and on and on about SoCal. So let me know if you'd like more info, and I'll try my best to show you my side of the world.

Thanks khayshenz - I guess I should have added to my request, that I am vision impaired and can't drive, and would be by myself - - that makes a big difference - sorry - I should have mentioned that, but I get so weary of having to tell people that all of the time. Your description sounds delightful. I just feel the need to find some place pretty and peaceful, where I can just lounge a bit by the beach, and if I can find something where there is mainly a good resturant within walking of my room, and I can enjoy the beach, I'd be happy. I live in the south central USA C. C.

Hi Ms Classy: I know this might sound like an ignorant question but vision impaired meaning you can't see AT ALL? Or it's too limited that you're unable to do certain things? If it means that you still have eyesight, that you can enjoy the beauty of Cali, then here's a proposal for you - I'd love to show you around. I know you said winter - so that gives us ample time to get to know each other (so it's not TOO creepy or whatever). And I just need to know in advance, to see if I can fit you in my schedule and help you out. I'm just putting it out there - I'm not sure how early or late in the winter you'd want to visit, and all that. So there's the matter of details. =D
