I often read that peole can't understand the shorthand in texting, I found this and thought of sharing it in here: Speak the language: * abt: About * asap: As soon as possible * aqap: As quick (or quiet) as possible * b4: Before * b4n: Bye for now * b8: Bait * bff: Best friend forever * brb: Be right back * btw: By the way * c: See * cm: Call me * cyl: See you later * cus: Because * diku: Do I know you? * dl or d/l: Download * dqmot: Don't quote me on this * 2: To or Too * 2nite: Tonight * 4: For * 411: Information * 4evr: Forever * e1: Everyone * ez: Easy * fyeo: For your eyes only * fyi: For your information * goi: Get over it * gr8: Great * gtg or g2g: Got to go * hagn: Have a good night * hago: Have a good one * hand: Have a nice day * hr8: Heart * ic: I see * idk: I don't know * idc: I don't care * ily: I love you * jic: Just in case * jk: Just kidding * jlmk: Just let me know * jmo: Just my opinion * jp: Just playing * k or kk: Okay There are a lot of abrebiations that I myself do not use. So, out of this list ehich one you use most? Did you found this helpful?

I try not to use any of them unless I am in a big rush because I am busy with other things. Most of them just show that people are either incredibly lazy or they cannot spell

I found them somewhere in the net, and I thought it would be cute to share them. I am hoping to be able to use at least a few.

hmmm, for me, that's not for text messaging, that's for chatting or something related on PC, hahaha because here in Philippines, text message is usually like normal, just putting out the Vowel part to save "characters" like, "more" become "mre" or "text" became "txt" ^_~ Happy Mylotting.

That sounds good, I know there is a lot of chat speak in there, I do not use it all, I simple just type what I need to type, I even use capitals in my texting. lol I just thought it will be fun to share.

They're helpful, thanks for sharing.Ü What I don't get is how most people use a lot of Xs and Qs. I'm not sure if you have experienced this. People I text won't have to worry about reading my messages, I never abbreviate, especially when I'm talking to people from work or if the person that I am talking to is a supplier. It is always best not to abbreviate - more formal that way. When my mom was learning to SMS, I also taught her not to abbreviate. I'm also teaching the same thing to my little cousins who are just learning how to text.

it is best not to abbreviate, when I text I only use a handful of the list and it is with a handful of people. I do not text with people I work. If I did I would not use any of the words in the list, it is best not. I am sure your little cousin will learn to abbreviate at school. The list could be longer. (I do not understand the q or x unless it is xox)

Oh no. It's not XOX. That I would know. It drives me nuts when I start seeing the Qs and the Xs. For instance, instead of saying Christian, they write Xtian. I'm trying to think of an English word example for the letter Q.

The only word I can think for Q is cute. I understand what you mean.

Hey, Whoa, that is a really long post you have their. I read through all of them, and most of them are good because everyone knows about them. Most of the time though, my parents have no idea what they mean, and have trouble reading them. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!
