I just logged in to helium to check my stats and received the biggest surprise! My balance has jumped significantly and I am above the minimum amount for payout! This is fantastic news! I thought I would have to wait another month to qualify for a payout. Now I don't know whether to request the money or let it sit until next month as I will be unemplyed and without a paycheck after July 10 until school starts up again.
I just found out I need a $50 part for my car (among other things). When one door closes...

Hmm, I think that you should probably decide as to whether to let it sit, by deciding on how long it will take to be transferred to you. If it only takes a few days, I'd say let it sit in there. If it takes more then a week, I'd say take it out and then put it away for a rainy day, or for whatever means you need it for such as the car part you were saying you'd need.

Well if you get your mylot money then it would be even more money you'd have. I guess I would if I was planning on taking it from paypal right after getting it. That way you'll get it at the same time.

That is a very good point and the two combined payouts would just about pay for the new water pump I need on my car.

The info from helium was to request if not later than the 4th to receive it by the 10th. I am reluctant to see my account go down to $0, lol, but I suppose I should ask for it now.

Congratulations on achieving payout.
I always cash out on the first of the month, and then at least I know that by the tenth it will be in my paypal account where it can stay or I can withdraw if I need it. If I leave it in Helium then I know I won't be able to get to it for another month, whcih could be a problem if I really depseratley need the money.

You make a good point. Next Friday is my last day in the summer program and I will turn in my time and receive one last check the week after. By August the 10th I will definitely be in need of more income to tide me over until school starts August 17.
Is there a deadline to request payment each month?

Believe the deadline for payment to be received this month is midnight on the 4th.

I accidentally requested payment last Sunday after I had trouble requesting before the 4th. It's now the 22nd, does this mean I won't get it until the beginning of next month?

That's great news! It's always better to get more than you anticipated. I can't really say whether you should leave it in there or not, that's your judgment call. But if you request it and then keep it in PayPal, you can access it in a few days. If you keep it in Helium, you won't get it till August 10. If you have a hard time saving money and don't want to be able to get to it, Helium may be your best solution.
Congrats again on reaching payout this month. It's great to have to be worrying about what to do with your money instead of worrying that you don't have any, right?
I wonder what the biggest amount that anyone has received from Helium (in a month)?

Thanks! I am leaning towards cashing out now and using the money for whatever expenses and holding on to my last summer teaching pay check instead of holding off til next month to request payout from helium. I am waiting for a car part to come in so I might as well use the helium money to replace what I am shelling out on that kind of stuff.

Have you tried venturing into the tasks? The paragraphs for $2 tasks were very helpful to me in reaching payout.

Again Congrats Canellita! This is getting to be a habit of ours isn't it?
While I know that you will be out of a job tomorrow I think I would have spent the money on the car part. You need your car no matter what even when you are out of a job and the car won't fix itself so I would consider it a good way to spend the money!
You are right, it always seems when one door closes...Ain't Life Grand??

I'm so sorry it took me so long to get back here, sometimes I don't get e-mails telling me there is a response to a response and sometimes I do!! Makes me look bad, which irritates me, 0but what is a body to do??
I am glad that your car is finally done as I know it worried you and I am sorry to hear that you did not get your payment from Helium but am glad you e-mailed them about it, the payment was probably just overlooked some how.
I am glad you are not out of a job but I was thinking that since you worked at a school, I thought, maybe you were off for summer vacation!
Good luck with your writing and your payment!

The car is done; for now at least. It needs a fan clutch...
I wasn't successful in requesting payment so I have to wait. I also have to email helium about it. I'm not really out of a job, just temporarily out of a paycheck until school starts again.

Thanks! I often miss comments and responses for the same reason. I am learning to look at the discussion lists and check though, but that takes remembering, lol!

Hi Canellita, congratulations! The first online earnings is always very sweet! What's your goal? If you can make it to 100 articles by the end of July 09, you will gain another writing star.
I think you can make it. Just need a lot of determination to write. At an average of three articles per day, you need to write for twenty three days to hit the 100th article mark.
I always cash out from Helium. Feel better to have the money sitting in paypal than Helium.

haha, nothing wrong with the Calendar, I'm counting till 25 July 09, the cutoff date for getting earning upfront payments for the July payment.
Since anything after 25 July 09, will be computed by end of August, and paid in Sept 09.
If I can make up my own calendar, I will have a lot of Sundays and Public Holidays, and less working days!

When I checked my stats this morning I had been updated to the third star. Are you saying that if I get to 100 articles I can get star number 4?
You are creating a monster in me Scheng! LOL. I can see myself becoming obsessed with helium writing stars and upfront payments!
I think I will definitely make it to 40 articles by July 9 but it may take me until the end of August to reach 100!
I have decided to cash out tomorrow. I am hoping to earn a few more pennies by then :-)

22 days in a month? What kind of calendar are you using? Oh, my goodness! I will have to report this to MommaJ! LOL
I do like your math and I think I can accomplish 3 articles in a day. I just hope I do not hit a burnout from overworking my middle aged brain!

This is a great thing. I am also aiming to make the payout in next few
days - may be a week or so .You seem to be quite fast though in
reaching the payout . I am also planning to increase my speed
towards making the payout .

Thank you, I suppose I am highly motivated, lol. It took me two months to reach my first payout with myLot and a mere two weeks at Associated Content. It took me about a month to earn the first penny from page views at Helium which was rather frustrating. It was only my determination to finish what I had started and some tips from myLot friends who also write at Helium that made my payout possible after two months.
Good luck reaching your payout!
