So my SIL2 is comming over for the next few days. She tells my kids to help me out so they don't have to come visit a "dirty house". Fine if that's what she calls an attempt to motivate my house to look up to "her standards"

Maybe they want your house to look clean so they can dirty it up? Or maybe since their house is so dirty according to your mother in law, well maybe they want your house to be like the cleanest. Well I don't think it's right that they falsely promise things and then dirty up your house, or falsly promise to your in laws who are sick! Sorry you have to go through this every time they come up.

When you visit people complaints etc, should leave the house, and none should be let in. I mean, that your in laws talking and complaining so much about this and that is just wrong. Well Good Luck To Ya! You can always retreat to here if it gets to be too much!

that's nasty and disrespectful. my grandmother always said to be "the best guest is to seem like you're not there" -in the sense of clean up your own mess, and don't get in the way of things. anytime i've ever stayed anywhere,i made certain to pick up after myself. i even offered to help clean if they were interested.
