why I no longer post new deviations

I am just about fed up with the people on that website. Whenever I try to talk to people there, they retort with nothing but mindless, bias, negative comments. Everyone I have encountered here presents themselves as pathetically immature, narcissistic and/or absolutely self-righteous. It just makes me so frustrated that like that exsists...or should I say people can BE like that.

When I was a more "popular" deviant I dealt with a lot of negative comments. So much so that I quit the site for a few months because I was actually starting to feel like crap. I was starting to believe it. It's gone downhill over the years. When I first joined, there was a greater feeling of community. People were there to help each other and I've made a few lifelong friends who to this day help me out. But overall that site is flooded with morons. I don't allow comments anymore when I do post something (which is rare now) because the comments are usually worthless. It's either "that's pretty" or "that's crap" and neither of the two help me grow as an artist. And of course I then got a lot of notes flaming me for not allowing comments because that of course had to mean I was stuck up. It's silly. I do like the prints program tho so I still post for that.

honestly if even anyone even comments mine i take it all as good comments and heres my resoning behind it,basically if they like it yay me and everyones happy and if they disslike it and all i also take it as yay me because i know people are atleast looking at my stuff well that and that i know if its something technical about the piece or my art in general i have to improve and who dosent wanna improve and get better at doing art or at doing anything they love right?

A majority of the members are young kids and teenagers so they can be very rude. I still go on there every once in a while but have not submitted any deviations due to no time. I think you are able to disable comments, and if someone posts something you do not approve of you can hide/delete them :)
