What is the reason for the Indian batsmen apart from Dhoni failing miserably in the recently concluded match against the West Indies? Firstly the opening pair failed to give a good start.Karthik got out in the first over.Gambhir too did not score a single run.Rohit sharma at number 3 too got out without troubling the score.yuvraj played well but got out to a rash shot.Only dhoni applied himself and got some runs.RP.singh gave him company supporting him to build a score. The reasons for India failing to put up a competetive score(according to me) are: --Lack of a good opening combination. --Lack of application. --Trying to score too quickly. --Still in T20 mode after the IPL and world T20. --Lack of stability in the middle order. What do you think is the reason for India's Abysmal batting display?? Do post your views and comments...

hi vishwen, there are many things for our poor show..first dhoni mislead the pitch and opt for batting wherin we should have chased in fast track..next we miss sehwag n this types of pitch and absence of him put lots of pressure in gambhir...jadeja should have been replaced by pathan.... the list goes on but the show put up by skipper cools us..hope the best in near future..

INDIAN team wants the player like sachin, dravid and saurav, sehawag for the upper slot not like the raina, rohit, gambhir and kartik, I think gambhir is a good opening batsman but not capable like saurav was. He can come at one down but he is not a good one for opening.

Your qusetion itself contains the answer to your query so I dont believe I have much to add on .I guess the multitude of reasons you cited have all been responsible to some extent for this abysmal batting performance. They are clearly too fatigued ,the opening combo havenot really fired ,Yusuf Pathan and Ravindra Jadeja are still too inexperienced . So barring Yuvraj singh our batting is going through a lean phase . But they had a four day break so I am counting on them to bounce back strongly
