AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! That's like saying the fox should be allowed freedom in the hen house. Teenagers should be given increasing amounts of independence so that by the time they're ready to go out on their own they know how to take care of themselves. But to give them absolute freedom, no way. Like I told my kids, "While you're under my roof, you follow my rules!"

Here, here. That was my dad's look on things, and now that I've got teenagers, I know why. LOL

I agree with you... Kids are given to much freedom... I have started volunteering in a sixth grade class. I am coming to the end of my college education and will begin teaching.. I am trying to decide where my place is. I always thought the highest I wanted to teach was third grade because children can be so mouthy.. However the principal at the school asked if I would volunteer in a sixth grade class and I said sure because you never know until you try it. Today was bad.. the kids were so mouthy to the teacher...and there was not really anything she could do about it. I asked how she handled the situation: if she was going to call the parents etc.. because I know if my kid was being as mouthy as some of those kids I would surely want to know. She stated that the parents of the children do not care and it does no good whatsoever to call them. I was heartbroken...

Firmly disagree... When i see 12 years or less kids kissing on the roads i feel soo upset about the culture... That is the age to study.. learn something to have a better life... They dont know how to do at that age and will be kissing on the streets.. I wonder why parents will not force the kids to study during that age...

I disagree very strongly with this. Teenagers need discipline, structure and rules to follow.

Absoulutly not. They will have plenty of time for freedom as they get older.

In my opinion, teenagers are not fully mature and grown to totally make rational decisions all the time; therefore, need SOME parental advice and guidance.

I disagree. My reasons would be because I remeber my attitudes and ways of my mind back then and really and truly although we think it at the time we still have a lot to learn while in that stage of life.

No teengaer should ever be given ABSOLUTE freedon!!! They are ruled by harmons not any kind of sense. They have enough trouble with some of the freedom they do have. what a chaotic world we would have if this were to happen.

I also DISAGREE strongly. I think that teenagers should be given a reasonable amount of freedom - but only towards the end of their adolescence. There are just some things that even adults struggle with - teenagers can appreciate that their parents only want what's best for them! Even if it only happens years later...

Disagree. They are just figuring out their individuality let alone dealing with the world. They would have no direction whatsoever if they had free reign. They need guidance, and they need to be taught values.

Absolutely not, Teenagers will run a muck and get into alot of trouble if they are given Absolute Freedom, Yes i think teenagers should have some freedom but not absolute freedom they need to learn that they may be a teenager but they are still a child and they have to listen to what their parents say and respect their parents, Parents dont make rules to make teenagers hate them they make the rules because they were a teenager once also and know what they are capable of doing!
