My Grandmother has a Windows 98 by PeoplePC. Apparently they used a Recovery CD Package by Peoplepc and it was doing it's thing and then it said failed and rebooted. Now it doesn't exactly boot up. It'll say Invalid Disk and ask for some media disk or something. I forget what it says and I can't look because I'd have to hook it up to my stuff I'm using now. I tried putting that disk in and booting it up, same problem, I tried putting in the Microsoft Windows 98 Upgrade and same problem. I forget how to get in and manually reformat the hard drive, after that I can reinstall Windows 98, I just don't know how to get around that invalid disk problem. Any sort of help or code would help me, thanks in advance. Oh and by the way, she only has these 2 disks, so a floppy is out of the question and any other disk is as well.

The only thing I can think of is before you run the disk try to hit explore before running it and see if you can isolate the win 98 section and run that only! The other is all fluff anyway, Good Luck! tdemex

Well first do one thing.. take a floppy disk and format with DOS option from other system, just insert your floppy into your Grandmother's PC. and then reboot. it will start from floppy only. then insert Windows 98 bootable CD and run from that command prompt. Other way is go to BIOS (mostly press del button while reboot the system) and select CD-ROM as first boot device from boot priority and then insert your Windows-98 CD and reboot once again.. hope it may help you.. Good Luck..
