Facing a Depression is it better to move or stay put?

I've been reading bits and pieces of history about the Depression and going on what I learned in school but it becomes too much for me and I just can't stand to read on because we are in the middle of an economic decline. Do you think its better to stay put or to get up and move to a specific state or country? Ironically, I'm hearing many Mexican workers here are opting to get out while they still can and go back home to Mexico while Mexican Business Owners are COMING to the states in Texas to invest their money and escape the violence because they have the money to easily invest 30% on a down payment to a house while many American's don't, My children's father might end up in Turkey because he wants to hold on to his citizenship in Turkey because Turkey might very well become a EU nation and he does not want to lose that status, what about your country?

Moving is expensive, stay put if you have a job unless you have to move. Cut back on costs, eat out less, go out less, stay home more. Save your money.

Stay put, keep cool and have a back up plan, always prepare for the worst, stay one step ahead, learn market trends. However if you're lucky and have a steady job and income in these times, this is the best time to buy into a good investment and make a killing once Obama and the moderate republicans are gone and we can get to business again.

In a recession it is best to stay your current course (or the course you had laid out), but in a depression you cannot help but feel the need to trim your life and make any change necessary to better your family. We are not in an International Depression, yet, and I hope that doesn't happen, but you can never blame anyone for wanting to do what they feel is best for their family. There really isn't a "right" answer. Good luck to everyone.
