Hello mylotters! One of my sisters gave me a poster several years ago that I keep on my kitchen counter called "How To Be An Artist". It's very funny and I thought I would share it with youall. I hope youall enjoy it. Here goes: Stay loose. Learn to watch snails. Invite someone dangerous to tea. Make little signs that say "yes" and post them all over your house. Make friends with freedom and uncertainty. Look forward to dreams. Cry during movies. Swing as high as you can on a swingset, by moonlight. Cultivate moods. Refuse to "be responsible". Do it for love. Take lots of naps. Give money away. Do it now. The money will follow. Believe in magic. Laugh a lot. Celebrate every gorgeous moment. Take moonbaths. Have wild imaginings, transformative dreams, and perfect calm. Draw on the walls. Read everyday. Imagine yourself magic. Giggle with children. Listen to old people. Open up. Dive in. Be free. Bless yourself. Drive away fear. Play with everything. Entertain your inner child. You are innocent. Build a fort with blankets. Get wet. Hug trees. Write love letters. Kathy.

No, antiquelady, I'm afraid I haven't tried it all, lol. One that I overlooked was "plant impossible gardens". Now, what in the world could you plant in an impossible garden?!I hope you have a happy 4th of July! Kathy.

that is so nice. being an artist is justbeing yourself my friend. and bring out that artist in you. make whatever you want to do, just have fun in it and be optimistic... thats right believe in magic and bring out that child in you. and just be in the mood for artistry. because you may get astouned by the things that you may be able to do... jhelai

Hi jheLaichie! I'm glad you enjoyed this discussion. I think it's pretty cute, myself. There is one sentence that I accidentally omitted and that was "plant impossible gardens". Now, what in the world could you plant in an impossible garden, lol?! Kathy.
