It's way too hot out here! Help!

I am sweating a few liters a day, I feel dirty, I am sick of the heat, my thermometer even starts shouting at me... if he'd be alive.. ( well 30 degrees celsius is not too common here... ). It's just too tropical, too noisy, not enough wind... and I don't feel like grabbing a few ice creams a day. Even taking the subway is the same like being in a Finnish sauna for hours... Can anyone from the more tropical countries tell me what to do to withstand the heat? Anyone?

Hi, it's not exactly a tropical place here but the tempreture today is a whopping 39 degrees. There is no breeze at all and the humidity is draining. Tips are inside can be cooler than out, drink masses of water to keep hydrated, use a fan, plenty of cold showers. Luckily we are not in the city but if you are keep heading into air conditioned shops. I sympathise with you about the subway, that's one thing I've never had to endure in this kind of heat.

We've got a fan here in home but the problem is that the weather changes constantly. Today it is very cold but yesterday it was fairly warm, and last week it was pretty hot. That makes it hard to endure, I can't get used to it and if I am, the weather changes radically again.

Hello diamania, so your hot spell was shortlived - we probably have another seven weeks of the same endless weather. I think we'll have to head up to the mountanin villages where it will be a little bit cooler.

I'm not from a tropical region either but I am experiencing the same heat "trauma". Fortunately there's also enough raining to keep the humidity balance on scale. I guess taking cold showers three times a day could help, at least it's way much refreshing and healthy than a chemical filled ice-cream :P

hello diamania, Aside from wearing less and thin clothes, you need to bring with you an umbrella and a fan. This can help you a little beat while you are outside. Anyway you can turn on the aircon of your car once you're driving. Take a bath two to three times a day.

I have heard that if you are low on calcium that the heat hurts more. I also know that there is nothing better than eating watermellon on those hot days. Rehydrate yourself! Sleep in an ice cold air conditioned room at night. Be glad you weren't born a couple hundred years ago. You would not have it so easy!!
