hi mylotians........ I am a movie buff(especially movies). In the recent time I literally got mind blown by movies like troy, swordfish, italian job, the hangover etc etc.... the list actually goes on.... BUT BUT yesterday I saw a Portuguese movie city of gods(english title) and it was amazing. I really would like to watch other language movies too now. What about you fellow mylotians??? Do share some good foreign language movies as well as hollywood movies to make this discussion worthwhile..

I'm good for Asian horror movies! -.~ Okay if you're into horror, I would go Asian all the way. I am not saying they are all good but they are better than alot of US horrors. The original One Missed Call. Do not watch the second it's terrible. It's all subtitled and is typically on demand on Comcast, sometimes it's at our library. The Host is also pretty good. I can't remembered if that is in a foreign language... it might be Korean or Japanese. Than again I might be wrong. -.~ It's still pretty good. The original Grudge and Ring are also good. Both Japanese. I can't think of any others at the moment. But those are some of my favorites!

You should check out Paha Maa (Frozen Land). It's a Finnish film and it's excellent. It mainly deals with the cause and affect of our actions. It blew me away. It kind of reminded me of two Hollywood films, "Slacker" and "Dazed and Confused" (both Linklater films) because all three films go from character to character as they meet to tell their stories. "Paha Maa", however, has a much darker mood than either of those other films (Thoug Richard Linklater is an excellent film maker. I reccomend watching anything he has made.) Another really great film is "Noroi". It's a Japanese horror movie that is done in a similar style to cloverfield, where it pieces random footage together to tell the story. Yet another great film is the Mexican film [Rec]. There was recently a Hollywood remake of it called "Quarantine", but the remake isn't nearly as good as the original.
