if a close friend was afraid of losing their hair on embarrased would you shave your head to make them feel better about the whole situation? I would definately do something like this to show my friend that she is not alone.

honestly i will not shave my head, it would make me really conscious of myself and by it i will not be helping my friend at all instead of giving her the moral support she needs. there are many other ways to support her though, we could try buying a wig, and i would get one for her, same hair as she has, the color and length too. and we can buy a hat, or bandana when we go out.

what about shaving your hair to donate for a wig. those real hair wigs have to come from somewhere so i think it does help people with cancer if we are willing to shave our heads and donate the hair for a wig.

i've heard about that, its called locks of love, and they have a website for it. http://www.locksoflove.org/ you dont really need to have your head shaved so you can donate your hair, you just have to cut it short, and they have an exact length of hair to donate. if i remember it right it should be more than 12 inches long. last year me and my daughter went for a haircut, we had really long hair then, mine was almost up to my waist, and my daughter just above her waist, it was so hot here so we decided for a hair cut. it was only after that haircut that i learned about this site. we are growing our hair now, and when we have it cut next time, we will donate it to be made as wigs for cancer patients.

yes, i think i will. I don't mind the bald look even if i'm a girl, I would like to think its cool, plus its gonna be done for a friend and a good cause so yes, I think I'd go bald if it means my friend would realize how much I care for her

Absolutely, it is only hair, it will grow back. If people did this we might feel more empathy. My son was in 3rd grade when he did it for a friend with leukemia.

No, I don't think I would. There are many other ways I can offer real support, helping her with wigs, hats, and of course just continue being the same friend I have always been. I don't think it would help my friend to see me without my hair - she would see how ridiculous I look and it might make her think she looks that way too. Okay, if my friend ASKED me to do this for her, then I might.

I keep my head pretty much shaved anyways. I keep a military style haircut most of the time, but if I had hair, I would certainly shave it to help a friend.

If it was someone that I was VERY close with, a family member or someone I had been friends with for most of my life, yes I would
