My DS who's almost 21 mo's likes to sit on his lil potty while I go. Great it's a start right. So not expecting anything as usual other than him trying to run bare bottomed, he actually did pee! It didn't make it into the potty exactly as it wasn't aimed in the right direction while he was sitting but I still say YAY! Though it could of been a fluke, as my oldest daughter did once and then didn't do it again for like 6mo or longer. But my middle she was finished by 24 months & did everything on her own. So YAY to my big boy!

Wow that is great. I would keep putting him on it and keep encouraging him, he is showing you that he is ready to be trained. Do not let this opportunity to pass

I will be very pleased if he finishes before 3yrs old. But I'm not going to push him too much as my oldest regressed alot. Whereas I let my other daughter do her thing and she was done at 2. **crossing fingers**

yay! My youngest will be 2 on the 28th of this month. We haven't done much as far as potty training yet. He will ask to sit on it every so often and i'll let him. He has peed on it twice. He will get up there and grunt like his is trying but nothing comes out lol. It was so funny though, the time he did go we cheered and made a big deal of it and he was just looking at us like "so what all i did was pee" lol. His sisters will both be in school this year so I think we'll really start to work on it then.

So he's in a similar spot on his way to learning to potty training. They say boys don't start til 3, but I dunno as long as my son keeps showing interest I'll keep putting him on the potty and encouraging him. He won't be 2 til October. He's figuring out that he has to go or has gone cause he'll want me to change him instead of sitting in it like they do when they are infants.

I remember those days when I couldn't close the bathroom door! It was a great way to show the boys what the toilet was used for and they took pretty quickly to the potty. Only they wanted to use the "big" potty! Did you ever take a shower with your baby on the bathroom floor in the car seat? I got so used to never closing the bathroom door and having the kids there that I still don't close the door even though I live alone now. Besides, the dogs would have a fit--they must think there's another exit I can sneak out of! Good job on the potty training, it won't be long now!

I recall that. But that was when they were infants of course. But usually I'd pull the highchair to the bathroom door and have them sit in that. So I knew they were safe & I could get cleaned up for the day.

Kids develop differently. But it is always an exciting experience teaching them new things and seeing them learn it. Happy my lotting to you.
