I think this book is a reprint or something...

I like to read just about any kind of book - fiction, non-fiction, romance, drama, thriller, sci-fi, true crime, autobiographies... And although I do have a few favorite authors, I read just about anyone.
Recently, I started a "new" Danielle Steele book - Bungalo 2. I'm not really sure how new it is because even though the copywright is 2007 the writing is atrocious! It reads like a writers first novel, and that is so not like Danielle Steele. The first time I stared to read it, I got totally bored and a friend gave me Angels and Demons so I read that instead. I'm back to Bungalo 2, but it's really hard to keep me interested because the writing is so bad.
Have you read this book, and what did you think? Have you read a book before by a respected author but it was just terrible writing?

I have not read that particular Danielle Steel book. In fact I have never heard of it. I have a pile of her books at home, some I've read and some I've yet to read. There are many who love Danielle Steel and there are some who can't stand her, think her stories are repetitive. I feel that way about Phyllis A. Whitney. I won't read her books anymore. But good writers say Steel isn't a good writer. Some say the same about Nora Roberts aka J.D. Robb.
Because I am in a writing group I go to seminars and workshops where I meet professional writers. I will read their work and see how awesome it is compared to the stuff I read on a regular basis (I tend to stick to certain authors). Most of the time I'm not paying so much attention to the writing as I am the story.

I don't read her too often, but it looked good and her stories are usually decent. This one is just very choppy-like... There are a lot of short sentences, and it's almost disjointed at times. I'm glad it's not a very long story because I don't know that I'd be able to finish it if it was much longer.
