In my opinion, there is no comparison because the two movies have two different plots. Anyway, I think Shawshank is better because its climax (how Tim Robbins' character escaped from the prison) is more mind-blowing and leaves a lasting impression or impact on the audience.

Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite films. I don't think you can ever compare it to Catch Me if you Can. Shawshank Redemption was executed very well as a movie and it's plot is one of a kind. I love the character of Tim Robbins and it is one of the rare times we see a very intelligent yet very subtle character.

hi anand, its no way this two movies comparable....they are movies of entirely different genre..catch me if you can is adventurous and shawshenk is a complete drama..but to choose it from these two,i will choose catch me if you can,as i as big fan of Spielberg, plus the story is full of plots,i really like that kind of movie..

Shawshank Redemption is a much more quality movie than Catch me if you Can. I love both movies, but there is no comparison. I did some research on Frank, and the story that Catch me if you Can was taken from, and its very interesting to hear about the things he did, that were not in the movie. For being such a bad guy, he was very impressive. At least now he uses his talents for good, and is worth millions from legitimate work. He has paid restitution for all the bad checks he forged.

The Shawshank Redemption, hands down. It is a masterpiece, while Catch Me If You Can is ""just"" a great movie.
