India

Hi, MyLotters. I am going to present a stunning fact out here. Due to obvious reasons I am not going to mention the place but water crisis has risen so much there that people are paying their blood to get water for survival. Do you know experts say that the next world war will be because of water crisis. Are we so selfish that we waste water and let others die due to it??? Please do respond. I wish to make it a campaign. Please share with us all at least one thing you do or will do to save water.

Hi Dear Friend, It is really very sad to hear that water crisis are at such a high level that people are giving their blood for getting water. Don't take me wrong, but what I feel is we give less importance to the things which are easily available and waste it most of the times, thinking that we can get that very easily. Same is with water, we waste water like anything, for example while shaving, we have tap open, while brusing our teeth we leave the tap open, etc, there can be many such examples, So I would just like to suggest that why we are waiting for others to change first, lets start changing ourselves first, wheather it is wasting or water or electricity, wheather it is for following traffic rules or for anyother thing. Lets change overselves and if everyone will think like this the world will change surely soon. I will pray to GOD that water crisis in your region gets resloved as quickly as possible and my best wishes are with you and all the people in your place.

Hi, friend you are right. There are things that we consider small but at the time of need they matter the most. Keep up your goodness and try to spread awareness.

When I was in college - I was involved in Engineers Without Borders. A lot of the projects that we worked on (as Civil Engineers) are water related. The water crisis is not a "new" thing. It's been there for a LONG time. Up to this day - there are still many people who have ZERO access to "good" drinking water. So they suffer from diseases, and what-not. Now that I'm a "professional" in the water, wastewater, hydraulics and hydrology, I'm thinking of rejoining Engineers without borders again. It's just I can't seem to afford the membership fee at this point ($100.00). My hours are reduced due to the economic meltdown. I don't think the crisis is due to water shortage in other countries (in Cali, it's drought for sure) - I think it's just water management. Ever heard of the 1000-wells project as well?

Well, yeah. I have heard of the project. You are really one of the very rare ones who care as well as do something for goodness. Keep up the good work and try to spread the campaign.
