Micheal Jackson didn't like being black. Is skin colour so important in life?

Reports say that M Jackson wanted to look fairer. Would not the world have accepted his talent had he remained black?

My understanding is that he had vitiligo which is a condition where coloured skin gradually loses its pigmentation and goes patchy. Personally I think this is true as I have seen pictures of him when he began to get patches of white skin. I think MJ chose to compltely bleach his skin because its more difficult to cover up the white blemishes, and if you're famous everyone expects you to have flawless skin. I dont think for one moment that he disliked being black per se. He was a very caring person and did alot for many people. I dont think the colour of anyone's skin matters. What does matter is the person they are, how they live their lives, and the consequences of their actions. I would have accepted MJ whatever colour his skin was. He was a remarkable singer and entertainer, and I know he will be missed by many, although he has left the world with the wonderful gift of his music, and the memory of his general craziness which made him so unique.

I think the world would have accepted his talkents with black skin too. I have seen his pictures when he was a kid with black skin. He looks cute. Coming to your second question. I will say, yes, skin color is very important to me. I have said one of my friends who proposed me only because he is black in color. He has a very good character, rich, and has a good job. I thought a lot about that and finally decided to say 'no' to him. I was sacred that I will get black kids from him and it disturbed my sleep for sometime. He married another pretty fair girl and lives happily now.

Thats a bold faced lie. Michael Jackson did not dislike being black. He had vitaligo a disease that causes your skin to loose its pigment. My grandmother had vitaligo and when she did not wear her makeup, her skin looked white in patches. She spent time applying makeup to every inch of her body that was visible when she went out. Michael Jackson had the money to chemically lighten his skin so he would not have the patchy look. I am sure he did not want to spend time applying makeup all over his body everywhere he went. Especially when he performed. He would have sweated and it would be hard to explain to his fans the patchy skin underneath. You shoud not make a statement like that without knowing all the facts, or even some of the facts. To make a statement like he did not like being black is offensive.

i have liked michael jackson when he was black though, and his music, but got lost interest in him when he became too white and had so many facial surgeries that the real michael jackson you cannot see anymore. he is a troubled person though... i have read though about his having skin disease and that is why he turned white. skin disease or bleached, his fans had still loved him.

Racism is everywhere, and in many countries around the world. It's not only the colours of the skin that are discriminated but also the race (and religion). In modern times, there are still many who believe that a person with a certain skin colour is more superior than one with a darker tone. Sad, huh? Aren't we all brothers and sisters living under the same house called EARTH, breathing the same air? How could a person of one colour be more dominant than the rest? MJ was not a racist. It's incorrect if anyone believes that he dislikes being black. Listen to his songs like "Heal the World", and "Black or White" - read the lyrics. Digest the underlying messages. MJ is telling us not to be racists! And it certainly does show that to him, black or white is not important. I think that's why he has millions of fans. While many artists sing songs of infatuations and hatred, MJ's songs are of human needs and environment. I think I'm off topic, but the message is clear. No racism, please. Thanks :)

What do you mean by "Reports say that M Jackson wanted to look fairer"? Michael Jackson became White! I think that by bleaching himself and eventually destroying his metabolism, Michael Jackson was attempting to avoid looking like someone he feared he may become, while at the same time telling the rude and ignorant world that he, engineer Michael Jackson, found out how to completely rid the skin of melanin (though melanin amongst other things, is a skin and environment protectant).

Yes, the world would have accepted his talent no matter what, but it wasn't the world that he was trying to please. It is sad that he achieved so much fame and adoration from his fans, but one of his closest associates said he just didn't like himself. No matter what he achieved, no matter how much his looks changed, nothing was ever enough. I guess it's really true that money can't buy the most important things in life.

Talent has no borders or race. It penetrates everywhere and people accept because of the originality of the talent you are dishing out. Skin colour is nothing at all.

He didin`t want to be black because of his father. Like everybody says, he was beaten by the father, he always say to Michael that he is ugly, so when i made 1 plastic surgery he made them more, and maybe thats why he wanted to be white... I think it doesn`t matter are you black or white, In a world we can find some rasists, but all rasists are bad persons who hates black people, i like all the people and for me it doesn`t matter is the people brown, white or yellow
