do you search before starting any discussion here on mylot?

i usually saw discussions that have the same topics and sometimes even the same title...and i once do that, i got a discussion started and after i tag it, it shows that there's other discussions which are the same as what i do...and sometimes even have the same title, well i think i come up to that mistake coz i don't really do a search before posting a discussion that time...well actually i didn't notice that search box before...
but now, before i post any discussion, i see to it that i do search first so that i can avoid duplicating of titles and topics...and if i found a discussion about what i want to start, i just reply on that discussion and didn't start a new one...or sometimes i still start a discussion with the same topic but i change title and of course the contents are my own...
how about you? do you use that search box before posting any discussion? nor have you been experienced posting a discussion with the same title /topic like the others? and how do you feel if you saw some discussion which is the same as yours but you know that you are the first to post it?

Hello babe ^_^ SO far, i have never ever used the search box before.. lol =D NOt in the past, not now and definitely not in the future though because i'm one whom starts very few discussions.. lol =D
I have always seen alot of similiar ones, and if they happen to be my area of interest, i'll be glad to respond them all.. If not, i'll just let them pass.. hehe ^_^ For duplicate posts, there's nothing much we can do about it just that we have to make sure content is different from what's already in there, just like u have mentioned ^_^
THere are so many members in mylot, and we might not always be the first few to start on any discussions right?? hehe ^_^

haha =D LIke i say in my last comment, there are so many members in mylot and it cant be that once they start a particular post, the rest of us cant be starting it as well?? If not, it's gonna be too strict and there's no flexiblity at all.. IN the end, mylot might just end up losing more members and shut down eventually.. haha =D
For others, if they see it as a duplicate post, then dun respond.. haha =D It's just that simple right?? If they are good at starting new posts, they should be starting new ones instead of finding posts to respond right?? lol =D
It's a give and take kinda thing.. If one dun like it, then skip it.. Nobody is forcing them to respond.. haha =D

yes i agree with you...and why waste your time posting on a discussion that you feel is just a repeat of the other discussion...
actually i get a little offended by that coz i feel like he's really imposing something...
but swear, i really try my best searching now first before posting...and i feel like that topic he's telling have different title and contents from mine...just the same topic, i guess
anyway..i just let him...and be nice to everyone here...

but well, for some, searching is just another waste of time...maybe...i think i have the same thought before...hehehe
but now, i have learned my lesson and always try to search first...but so sad, like the first poster there said...it has the same topic...

i have never tried that search box... and i haven't tried to start a discussion. i want to start one but i'm thinking twice because i don't know what topics are interesting and what could catch the attention of other members... so, i just respond to others discussion =)

well i think any topic can be interesting and catch the attention of other mylotters! just post an original and unique discussions with an attention catching title! but responding and commenting to others discussions is also nice and interesting and yes bring us some earnings!

Personally I think no matter what a person does in here this will happen. I know that there are many people who come in here from time to time posting in here from all over the world, and repeats are bound to happen. The best thing you need to do, is just remember to make sure it is your own so that no one can ever accuse you of cheating and go from there.

in reality i never searched for discussions to check if there was already started or not!!normally i just open a discussion too and stop!!so it happened sometimes that i want open discussion but i see that someone else have opened yet and so i don't...but i never searched properly before open them!!So may be next time i will check for that....

hehehe...it happens to me a lot of times...that's why now, i am trying to search first before opening a discussion...but still no matter how i try sometimes i still get a discussion that has the same topic as the others...but atleast not the same content!

I only use that box when i'm bord and want to find sustin topics i can response to i just write my topics i'm to lazy to loo them up. (lol ^_^

Nope, never I used that search box (don't know actually the importance of that box

I always started a topic of my own, though you're right there could be a prior similar to my topic. Which I prove few times.
But since my intention is to raise my question or discussion then I'm confident that I'm not copying and it would not make any harm doing so.
One thing is to copy is more difficult than create your own 'coz the latter would come spontaneously out of your mind.
On the other way, it's good to search 1st so as to confirm if you don't duplicate a prior topic. That's would be added to my resolution this time.
To avoid a lack of quality topic let's follow the proper way!

yes zearah its true! doing a search is really something that we overlooked and most of us didn't really know the importance and use of that search bar! hhehee...i am also like you...i didn't use that bar coz i am confident that what i am writing here is my own...but sadly, it happen to me twice i think, that upon posting and tagging it came out that it have the same title...
and i don't feel good about it! then from that i raise a discussion about that incidence and with the help of the seniors here...i've come to realize the importance of that seach bar...but still there are some instances that we can't really avoid to have the same topics...at least not the same title and contents!
