No special badge for Independance Day 2009?

I was really expecting a special badge for the holiday again this year. I joined club pogo in the summer of 2006, so I don't know if there was a July 4th special edition badge that year, but in 2007 and 2008 we had one.
Anybody else miss having this badge?

I'm surprised they didn't have one as well. That's one of the things I usually look forward to around the holidays. I'm not ready to fork over gems just for the special badge they do have, especially when they've had a free one before. It looks like there's a special edition badge coming up but it has nothing to do with the 4th or even summer. And it's one of those where you play a certain game to earn it, not win so many badges.

I like the ones where you have to get 4 badges or whatever in a time frame. I surely don't want to pay for them though!

I too am disappointed that Pogo has chosen to do away with this badge. I saw the one you have to pay for (with gems), but it's not the same. I don't think it's correct that pogo wants people to pay for our patriotism. There should have been a free one as well as a premium one.
A lot has changed as pogo has become bigger. I remember when birthday greeting were sent out, and that's another thing that has been eliminated.

I'm still fairly new - a year or two?? - so I don't really miss what I didn't know they had. But I was looking forward to a new special badge.
