The Detroit Tigers are currently in first place in their division. However, they are hanging in there by a thread. There pitching is starting to collapse and their hitting has been less than spectacular for weeks. Hopefully, they will turn things around after all star break. On the other hand, they may just tailspin in the end.

I don't know honestly. I don't see them losing the division at this point in time. To be perfectly honest, anyone see the White Sox rising up to overtake them for the division because nobody is going to win the Wild Card. Cleveland isn't going to do anything for sure. That team has been downright embarrassing to watch. It's so bad it is just unbelievable and have been pretty much the doom and gloom franchise that I have heard about from older fans. I wish the Indians would simply be better. I do not expect them to contend. Minnesota I'm not so sure if they will be in the middle of the race but could by default. It's not that they are bad but could be better. They are just mediocre at this moment in time and can turn it around. Kansas City is Kansas City. I have never seen this team ever be a serious threat. Do not expect anything out of that franchise. Outside of Grienke, who else is there as far as pitching goes? I'm not sure if the Tigers will collapse though because I'm just not sure anyone else is going to go on a hot streak and overtake them at this time. I could be wrong though.

wow interesting reading these comments that you folks wrote 3 months ago. Very interesting to see the comments compared to the reality we all Detroit Tigers fan's are about to face. This thing is lose-able now. It appears they go into the final game of the season with Minnesota. Who's hot? and who's not? What an interesting end to a season.

The Tigers are struggling on the road with a 21-26 record while not at home. But when they are at home they have a 23-11 record. I think their only legit worry is Minnesota. The White Sox do not pose a real threat in the long run. What the Tigers need is a few very strong outings from Verlander and they need their key guys like Granderson to catch fire. It hasn't helped that Magglio Ordonez has been hitting awful. I think the All-Star break will be good for them. It will give them a chance to shake off the road blues and come back in a good mental frame of mind.
