Hi applepod, you need to always add a spoonful of olive oil and the salt before adding the boiling water, bring it to boil before adding the pasta. The oil stops the pasta sticking together. I can't imagine adding margarine to it! Sometimes I will cook bacon and garlic togethe in oil and add the extra oil to the cooked pasta, the same with prawns with garlic and chilli. Or you can just pour olive oil or herb infused oil over the pasta after cooking but never forget to put the oil in the pan first. Hope you find that tip makes your pasta moist.

I cook the pasta in boiling water with salt and a bit of oil. When I take the water away, I pour some olive oil and turn it with a spoon. Then I add whatever I want. Many times I take the white pasta to the table and everyone puts the quantity of sauce they want.
This is better when I make a pasta party. I make 2 or 3 different types of pasta and 4 or 5 different sauces.

Hello, I too have the same problem as you. Whenever I make pasta it alwasy turn out very chewy instead of moist and juicy. I know with Rachel Ray she uses EVOO, and then just let it set in there for a few and then she continues to cook the pasta the way she wants. I can always let set in the pan with water a little bit longer not cooking and it still comes out not moist. Maybe what we should try is the EVOO or maybe even some oil and see what happens. I think I will make something with pasta and see if that helps. If it helps I will leave a comment for you so that you know. I wish you the best of luck with the pasta problem.

I always add a small amount of canola oil. It's better for you than margarine or butter, and I usually throw in garlic powder and spices, too, so the canola oil helps make it stick to the pasta and not the pan!
