Funny situation, when your boss woman come to work with a funny hat, and you really can t laugh; she can be very up sad...and never know, you can lose your job.... I was in a situation like this, when my friend grandmother colored shes hair in red...you can imagine, a lady 80 years old, with red hair, i want laugh so much, hurt my face muscles, because i keep my face in a serious position...i want so much to laugh, but i can t because i know that my friend will cry, because she know that i am a natural person, and don t like all this strange changes..in a old lady.. So, you was in situation like this when you was in funny positions, but can t laugh? What you did, ? just go in other room and laugh a lot, or try to think in something very sad...to make you don t laugh?

marianna, this is mighty tough for me especially. when i laugh,i do it real loud and i cannot stop myself too when i laugh. quite often, i have laughed when people have kind of indulged in something funny. i do ask them to excuse me immediately, but i just cannot stop my laughter. sometimes, the other people also join me in the laughter and i kind of get lost in all the people.

I would bite the inside of my top lip and dig my nails into the palms of my hand before excusing myself to go to another room I guess. But, if I'd seen the 80 year old with red hair, I'd shake her by the hand and congratulate her. Why on earth shouldn't she have red hair, or green or purple or any colour she pleases. Rock on grandma ...I fully intend to be doing the same kind of thing myself if I'm lucky enough to reach that age in reasonable health.

I would just turn my head and nod with a smile on my face thinking why would they do such an idiotic thing and keep it to myself until I could share with someone else while I continue working

Look one thing is final that man can not change their nature. So all human will react according to his nature. If i talk about me then ofcource i would not hide my laugh.I will reveal my self.I can not do acting i will laugh against everyone badly. and with big shout. Many people will disagree with that but dont be i suggest you all that never hide your nature from anyone just let your self express to everyone. You will feel very good after this.Very nice quetion.

I just do my best to suppress it, which is very hard. I find that, the harder you try to suppress laughter, the harder you want to laugh and the more you know you shouldn't laugh, the funnier it is.

I will excuse myself to the washroom and laugh my heart out. I experienced this earlier in my office, when a client walk in with funny clothings. Being professionals, we just can't laugh at him. However, I excuse myself and leave to the rest room... muahahah.. and I am back at the meeting!

This is a funny topic. Sometimes we just can't laugh in a certain circumstances. In such kind of case, usually I will try to think something sad in the past. Try to remind of the sad things may make me stop laughing. I love China

Hi marianna, I think reactions towards such situations vary accordingly. In my case, I can always say "What's with the red hair?" and no one will take offense. I even add "You look funny." People know me as someone very frank. I get away with it. But I don't laugh out loud.

I have came across many incidence and situations like you mentioned, however I'm not able to laugh if someone around me gonna feel bad. I would act normal and probably get home to share it with my husband. I've seen some if my friends who let out their laughter when one falls down or silly things like that. I believe it's rude! Even if I want to I can't laugh at those situations!

If somebody is bothered about circumstances to laugh then i dont think he has a valid reason to laugh.A genuine joke looks not at any circumstances. It is sponteneous..

For me personally I can't not to laugh, god knows how many times I've been in situation like that and I've tried to keep my face straight, but no hope for me. but the thing is that I laugh in a nice way, what I mean that I have never ever had any one bothered or offended when I laugh at them, why and how I cant really explain, it is just this quality I have in my face and my eyes make people understand that I am not laughing because I just want to make fun of them, I am laughing with them because I want to have fun with them and at all time I always accompany the laughter with a nice comment or even I explain why I am laughing. This way never got me in trouble with any one because am laughing at them, THANK GOD, on the other hand I don't mind people laughing at me so I guess it is some thing mutual.
