Salary increase

Hey guys!Please help me answer this seem simple but problematic question: Is it right to ask for a salary increase from your boss? What is the best way to do it?Personal?Written?Tell officemates? Thanks a lot!

I think it is only right to ask for an increase if you haven't had an increase in a long time and you're a good employee who works hard. Also, if you have more responsibilities than you used to your boss may give you more. However, with this economy, employers are a lot less likely to pay more money. In fact, last February, my Dad's salary DECREASED.

This economy is definately not good. I will be graduating from school in December and I hope I will be able to find a job then.
