Can stress cause hives?

My fiance's parents are so angry over us as couple, my mother is in bad health and everything seems to be going wrong. Now I have hives and I'm wondering if stress could be the cause. There is no other possible reason for me to get them, no bugs have bitten me, I haven't switched detergents or skincare products. How can I treat hives besides anti-itch cream?

Some hives can be caused by stress. Stress can do many things to a body. Using a cream won't always work. I can tell you what I do. This works most of the time. Take a hot bath with oatmeal. I know that may sound gross but it really is soothing. Take a good book with you to read or if you don't like to read light some candles and have some soft music playing while you bathe. Stay in this bath as long as you can. I have found that when I am stressed out and feeling hives coming on...I grab the oatmeal and shut out the world...lol. Hope this helps you. And I will pray for your mother's health to return!

I don't agree to your opinion. Some hives can be caused by stress, but more hives aren't connected with stress. Taking a hot bath with oatmeal is false, when you have hives ,your skin can't be stimulated, otherwise it will be increasingly acute. The best way is seeing a doctor.

Maybe there is a little link between stress and hives, but after all it's not the main reason. Too much stress may give rise to immunity decrease, but the basic reason is the intrusion of some virus, some people's skin is allergic, maybe mosquito bite, maybe eat some spicy food, such as seafood or shrimp, etc... The best way is to see a doctor.
