Do you have a certain side of the bed on which you prefer to sleep?

Hi everyone :) I was curious, since for many years now, and I'm not sure why, but I prefer to sleep on the right side of the bed--that would be if you are standing at the foot of it.
Do you also have a particular side of the bed on which you prefer to sleep? Can you think of a reason, besides habit, why this might be?

Hi Karen!
I prefer to sleep on the right (corner) side of my bed, so that I could get up easily, when the need arises. I do not feel comfortable sleeping in between two persons. I always want a corner so that I could get up without disturbing the other fellow who is sleeping with me.

Hello Deepak. Your reasoning makes perfect sense. I think my preference stems from the fact that the right side of my bed faces the door. It is easier if one has to get up in the dark not to have to walk clear around the bed. :)

Right side of my bed also faces the door, incidentally and we always see our convenience, when sleeping or getting up at night.

Yes indeed. This was a habit for me when my daughters were babies and I would get up in the night to nurse them when they were tiny. The habit has stuck lol.

i like sleeping in the middle with pillows on both sides so that when i face the right or the left i get the cold feel of the sheet or pillow case which for me is a very refreshing feeling especially during hot summer nights.

I also sleep with a lot of pillows, Ann. I like that you mention the coolness of one when turning over. I saw in a story once a description: as cool as the other side of the pillow.
I thought that was a unique simile, and I have remembered it all these years!
