I've been working my butt of for the last couple weeks moving furniture, refrigerators and putting new mattresses in all the sofa beds in the patient rooms. We have 14 rooms. Remind you I have to unfold the bed pull out the mattress put the new 1 on and fold it back up.
Then I have to lug the old once to the trash.
My back is killing me
so I asked my boss for a back braze.
He said "We don't supply back brazes course that will only make your back worse because you get used to wearing them and then when you don't wear it you hurt your back"
Well it's hurting me now. Then he says something about being a liability, it don't make sense to me.
Does your boss supply you with the things you need to do your job?

after reading your post,i have 2 question below
:
==============================
1.are you a nurse ?
2.what's the back braze?something can protect your back?
a brilliant explanation or a delusive pretext
==============================
we dont supply back brazes course that will only make your back worse because you get used to wearing them and then when you dont wear it you hurt your back
(i think you'll deal with it by yourself at the end & do you think your boss is a closefisted person?)

Personally I think this is a thing everyone encures around them no matter what type of job you are doing in wanting things to change, and your job not willing to take the time or money to see things happen as well. I think I can see his point though, because unless it manditory so many people would refuse to wear their braces the correct way while at work, and then if they get hurt it could be worse for everyone else all around for sure. I think the Best thing might be to wait it out, and if things get too Bad, hoping you have a Dr. they can see for it as well.

Your job is quite the back breaker... with all that work... you don't need a back braze... but an assistant who can help you will all the heavy lifting... in work as an assistant... and am required to travel a lot using public transportation... but i dare not ask my boss for a service vehicle... as long as she provides me with my transportation allowance... i am quite happy with that...

I do a lot of lifting with my job too and yes the boss supplies us. The liability comes when they don't supply you and you could very frankly make that clear. If you get hurt on the job...the cost of a back brace is nothing compared to your hospital bills. If you need it..demand it.

I am sorry that your boss appears to be a dweeb head..I don't work now but when I did and had to stand 10 hours a days I and lift and tug on heavy stuff I would have to go home at night and soak in a tub to get my back and legs to stop throbbing so bad..I would buy a back brace if I was you. Just so you are not hurting yourself and then not being able to work. No boss didn't provide us with all we needed but they did have a suggestion box..maybe you can contact the higher ups who might be over him and suggest the back braces or at least help pay half.
