I got to reminiscing today and started thinking about many things. How many of these things can you relate to? Remember when you didn't worry about your retirement money and investments being there when you were finally ready to retire? Remember when food and medicines didn't have to be "sealed for your protection"? Remember when gasoline was under $1.00 a gallon? Remember when there were no cd's or dvd's but 45's, LP's and VHS tapes? Remember when "The Staples Center" was still called "The Forum"? Remember when...Michael Jackson was still alive? Man, how times have changed... R.I.P. Michael - your time on this planet ended long before it should have.

Remember when it was safe to walk around at night? Remember when children respected the elders? Remember when it was safe to bathe in the sun? Remember telephone booths? Remember when you can trust a police officer? Remember Led Zeppelin and The Beatles, The Stones, and Hendrix? Those were the good ole days gone by....

Whatever I remember is not coming back to life. My memories are with my parents. I lost both of my parents in less than one year. I do remember when I could walk at night and feel safe..... I do remember when we trust each other........ I do remember when customer service used to be nice and helpful... Missing past time...

Yes, I do remember when customer service people actually tried to help us instead of being rude and unhelpful. Thanks for your comment and happy myLotting!!!

Remember when children played outside with each other and not on xbox/playstation? Remember when we used 56K (or even better 28K) modems and websites took forever to load? Remember when people could live without cellphones? Remember when all men used to wear tighty-whities?

Yes, I remember all of that. I know that I used to be just fine without a cell phone and now I really depend on it for everything. We got rid of our landline about 5 years ago as we just use our cell phones now for all calls. Thanks for your comment and happy myLotting!!!

I remember when gasoline was under 35 cents a gallon! That does date me, huh? LOL I could fill up my tank on $5.00. Now, that puts two gallons in the tank. OUCH! I remember 8-track tapes, too. They were once the cutting edge! I remember Pong, the first ever video game you could play on you TV. It was so exciting seeing that little white dot move across the screen, over and over and over and... Yeah, times change. The older we get, the more foreign life seems. I will miss Michael Jackson. The man had some issues, but he was the best entertainer ever, in my opinion. He was also an extremely generous person. I watched a special about him and learned that, on one of his tours, he actually paid for the tour himself because the special effects cost so much that they lost money, even with all the ticket sales. He said he didn't care about the money; he wanted to give the fans what they wanted, a spectacular show. I greatly admire everything he's done for the entertainment industry and for being such a great humanitarian. (And, no, I don't believe he would EVER harm a child...those legal issues stemmed from greedy, lying parents.)

I remember 8 track tapes too! We still have an old Panasonic 8 Track Player at home, the one that looked like a TNT detonator. Remember those? I remember Pong too and my Atari 2600 was my very first video game system. As far as Michael I don't think he ever harmed children either. My children keep asking me who he was and they still don't really understand who he was. This has affected me probably how people that were Elvis fans back in the 70's felt. He was one of my favorite singers. Thanks for your comment and happy myLotting!!!

I remember these things! The day gas hit $1.00 I was appalled. Now I would be happy if it is under $2.50. I used to buy 45 records with my allowance and occasinal LP's and cassettes and played them on my cool record player. I remember when video stores first came out. There was the small Beta section too. That was funny. As for Michael, I remember when Thriller came out and went and bought the record. Then there was the video Thriller. We had never seen anything like it and were just amazed. Who would have thought back in the early 80's that he would still be singing and dancing in 2009. It is amazing. He will be missed.

I remember all these things too. My husband still has a Beta player and some old Beta tapes. And it works too! I remember "Off The Wall" and then "Thriller" came out when I was in high school. We would go and watch the video during our lunch hour at school every day. I even remember going to the movie theatre and seeing "The Wiz". Thanks for your comment and happy myLotting!!!

My mom is always saying she remembers and misses the days that a candy bar was only .5 cents, a cola .5cents and a loaf of bread only .25 cents. Now days things are way to high. Going to be alot of people learning to remember how to raise a garden and hunt to be able survive.

That's for sure....it was way too soon. Earlier this week I spent a day with my sister as she took me to the airport which is close to her house....we were talking about when we grew up how our mom would make chicken noodle soup....leave it on the stove all day....reheat for supper and NO ONE ever got sick eating a soup that hadn't been refrigerated! We are finally coming back to that time when there was no additives to meat, poultry and other things like veggies.....I do remember a time when you didn't have childproof anything....and I remember holding my kids in the car or having them in the front seat in only their infant seat!

I know I tried explaining to my teenage son about records. One time I was listening to my 80's music and a song came on and its title is "You Spin Me Round Like A Record". My son asks me "what's a record?". I went on to explain it to him and then I felt really old. Thanks for your comment and happy myLotting!!!
