I was wondering if anyone has any good art or craft or activity in general that is fun to do with kids in a five year old age range?..... I am always trying to think of new ideas and activities to introduce my son to... he especially loves to paint we have found out... anyway so does anyone have any art or craft ideas that we can do for our next project?... I would appreciate any ideas... thanks!!

My children are five and we do tons of art projects over time. My kids love to paint as well. One project that they truly love is I have large packing paper left over from my move, I got them finger paints and allowed them to paint the paper as they wished, I then took them to the park and took a variety of pictures of the kids, I got them developed. Once the paint was dry I framed it with the pictures from the park on top of it. The kids still talk about how much fun it was. we go on walks and collect leaves, acorns, rocks etc then we come home and use them to crate things, paint with etc. My kids love cutting and gluing as well, so I will cut out shapes of houses, trees, clouds, water, fish, birds and much more. I then allow them to use their imagination to glue them to paper.

Thanks for the idea... my son loves to be outside and do things as well.... find things online to print sometimes and then color cut then glue the pieces on empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls to make little animal characters.. they are cute... it is a very fun project. Thanks again for your ideas!!!

My daughter is 6, but she loves crafts as well. We got pots for her birthday an decorated them with pant pens, and the planted some cheap plants in them, and she loved it. Oriental Trading company has a ton of craft kits that he would probably really like. I know they have a pinwheel set, made out of that foam stuff. Both my son and daughter loved that.

thanks so much! I will definetly check that company out.... I have already planted many potted plants and flower gardens and a vegetable garden with my son this year. He loves watering time and also picking the veggies out of the garden.... however I am still having trouble making him try new foods... maybe I should also be asking advice for that.... Anyway, thanks so much for the response and ideas!!!
