If you have less than 20/20 vision, would you consider laser eye surgery?

I have been seriously thinking about it, but I don't want to go blind because of vanity so I am trying to be really careful and think about it completely before I do anything. Would you consider having sugery like this done? If not, would you go for eye contacts or glasses, and how good is your eyesight?

my sight is far from perfect, but i would not get a surgery. there are risks that come with any surgery and some people walk out of the OR unable to see at all. my brother had a surgery on his eyes and he had allergic reaction to something they used during the surgery, took a very long time to bet the reaction under control. plus there is a risk of infection, there is a micro organism that infects the eye and if you get it you can go blind. so to me the only way i'd get a surgery is if i'm almost blind.

it's not too common, buy i just hate take chances like that. are you near-sighted by chance? if yes you can exercise your eyes. the reason s=most people can't see that well is because eye muscles are weak, so you just have to make them stronger. it takes a lot of time to get sight back, but it works. plus there are a lot of nutrients that can help, such as beta carotene. also TV and computer screens produce radiation that doesn't affect your whole body as it's easily stoped by skin, but penetrates eyes and destroy them. so you might want to buy there special screens for your TV and computer to prevent radiation from reaching your eyes. computer most importantly because people sit very close to the screen.

I am near-sighted, actually. My eyesight did get better one summer when I stopped wearing my glasses, but once I started school again my eyesight went bad again.

Laser eye surgery has improved drastically over the years. There is only a very small chance you would go blind. I havent heard of anyone going blind because of it - that is how small the chance is! There are a lot of things to think about, though. Depending on your age, you might want to wait. They say that your eyes dont really stop changing until about age 30. So if you are under 30, it would probably be best to wait. You wouldnt want to have the surgery and then be back with glasses in a year! I have worn glasses since I was 8. In a few more years - when I am a bit older and am completely finished having kids - I will probably seriously consider getting eye surgery. It will just make a lot of things easier!

No I'm to much of a chicken to get surgery. I'd wear lenses or glasses but never surgery. I'm already scared to get my vaccinations...
